The hotel is situated close to the shops and restaurants of Portsmouth.
I would have thought that in this day and age wifi would have been free. It was not. The hotel was very busy and the car park was full however they supply you with a 24hr parking permit for the street. There was a function on during my visit which made buying a drink at the bar almost impossible.
I have stayed here twice before and always rated it higher unfortunately this time our room had very soft bouncy beds which were not nice at all. Previously beds have been fantastic. Bit of a let down.

We stayed there 1 night, had amazing experience. There were lots of things to do on fort, the food was great
The booking process could have been better. I got an email from hotel 2 days before the arrival asking me to call them asap. I only saw the message in the evening, so I was left worried about my booking till next day. Then, when I called, I was said that my payment didn't go through. But in fact I paid for the room 1.5 month in advance. It took some time to figure it out and I'm glad everything turned out alright.
two night stay, room ok, but wifi a problem. Stayed here a few times and the wifi never seems to be working ...last 3/4 visits when I raise the issue the staff have told me the "guy" will fix it... which never happens.....it is actually getting worse!! this time the wifi wouldn't even work in the reception area (system connected but would not load any web pages even when logged into "the cloud") ...bar/restro wifi system worked ok, this is a problem for business users who expect a decent wifi provision because the hotel advertise wifi as being available in the rooms.........

Home to the Royal Navy, Portsmouth is most famous for its Historic Dockyard. Visitors can clamber aboard Nelson’s flagship the HMS Victory, view the Mary Rose (Henry VIII’s flagship), and enjoy other nautically themed experiences. Adjacent, Gunwharf Quays buzzes with shops, bars, restaurants and nightspots. These are clustered around the 170-metre-high Spinnaker Tower, visible for miles around and offering great views from its summit.
