Even though there is a private area on the beach, the water is not very clear. We used the indoor/outdoor pool instead but the AC in the indoor section broke and it became unbearably hot. Even though we complained, they didn't fix it for 3 days.

Warm recommendation for Kempinski Palace Portorož
We had an amazing week at Kempinski Palace Portorož with my family. We also celebrated my mom’s 70th birthday. Everything was great and the staff did their very best to make mom feel special and all of us feel like home. Portorož and Piran are amazing places to spend an active holiday next to the sea in the spring and early autumn.

Nice staff, especially Marco at the front desk who helped us with dinner reservations and even drove us to the restaurant in Piran and introduced us to the owner. Ester gave me a very nice message and my wife a nice facial. The bartenders were also nice, and the pool man was helpful as well. Overall, the hotel was wonderful and if we return, we will definitely stay at this hotel.t

Perfect stay. Exceptionally clean and very conscious about safety measures with Covid. Pool and beach convenient and beautiful. Excellent service. The best part was the beautiful breakfast and breakfast room and patio!! Loved it and can’t wait to return

The properties very nice but we had some problems with our room. The lights kept flickering on and off and the air conditioning did not work very well. Also, unfortunately a roach was climbing on our wall. We told management and they didn’t do anything further. The beach is nice and is run has very nice staff to assist. The food and breakfast was very high quality.

Thought I was booking in an old palace, there was never mention that there was a modern building next to it that I would be put in! And my Park view was a food view of the connection between the modern and the Palace

Good for a beach break
Good location on the sea front with a selection of shops and restaurants close by. Also a short trip up to Piran which is a very picturesque medieval walled town with a good selection of shops and restaurants. Family friendly and pet friendly hotel, staff are very friendly and provide an excellent service.

The staff went out if their way to be friendly and helpful. Of particular note, when the weather got very hot, they happily overrode the limits on our room thermostat and turned the Temperature down at our request.

Spacious clean and quiet room with comfortable bed. Good pool area with plenty of lounges. Guests do reserve lounges and disappear for hours, that needs to be controlled. Excellent location for the beach and surrounding area.

Excellent however no iron or ironing board provided and cost for ironing and washing by the hotel was ridiculously expensive

Could use a renovation
Location is great and the service was impeccable. Room is dated and could use a renovation -- especially the bathroom (and I stayed in the modern wing). The gym is terrible. They need to replace all the equipment and put in mirrors on the walls (there is just one small one).

Great romantic stay
Booked the Laguna suite with the hot tub. Everything was amazing and we also had a great time in the hotel spa, free of charge. Bed mattress was not as comfortable as I’d hoped though. Breakfast was in a beautiful baroque style hall. Plenty of delicious food.
