Nice location
Great location for getting around. Located on a pedestrian mall, so you have to figure a way to get your bags from parking to/from across city streets. Be prepared. Alex was helpful getting us oriented. Shower almost impossible to use. Slow in getting it fixed before we checked out feeling slightly stinky.

Great place and location. Walkable to many restaurants. We were fortunate that our apartment was on the second floor. It is a four story building with no elevator which is very common in Portugal. Great communication with the host.

Location is amazing. However, to get into the apartment, we weren’t able to locate the property manager due to our late arrival. We waited for 30 minutes and plenty of phone calls. During our stay, we ran out of toilet paper and we didn’t see any property manager during our entire stay after the first day of check in. Really lovely apartment though. Very functional. Will stay there again, just wish they have better communication for check ins.

Bolhao Apartments Porto
We were very happy with the Apartment. Plenty of facilities to use if you wanted too. Cleaned and tidied regularly. Reception staff could not have been more helpful. Very good location for the Metro and only a short walk to the Centre and/or many bars and restaurants.

Pros: Joana and staff were excellent. They will help with bags and provide a map of the city, note where to eat, tour, etc. Any time we had a question it was answered quickly. You'll be given an android cell with up to 60 mins of free calls each day (very nice!), some tour/hotspot apps and recommendations, etc, and internet access, but it was restricted from full use like your personal cell. WiFi is provided on property, with one hotspot for each floor. Room was very clean. Cons: There is no elevator, we had to walk up 80 stairs to the loft. There's no AC or windows for air circulation in the hallways, so you'll be winded and sweaty every time you enter and go up to your room (I'm in shape, and it's still quite a slog in the stuffy hallways, especially carrying luggage). There's no clothes washer or dryer. WiFi for the top floor was very spotty (1-2 bars), it would go in and out on all our devices no matter what time of day. The large market across the street won't be done for at least another year, there's a lot of construction and the road in front of the apt is blocked off. You can drive a rental onto a portion of the road, but you can't park - that's a few blocks away, they charge 10 euro/day. There are seagulls/birds who create a HUGE amount of noise throughout the entire night, right outside the top floor windows - bring earplugs or you won't get much sleep.

Just book it
Thanks Joana for an amazing stay. Comfortable room very spacious, comfortable bed We didn’t use the kitchen facilities. The apartment has a phone for use while you’re there with 30 mins of international calls per day, while we didn’t think we’d use that we called our elderly fathers who don’t have smart phones. The phone also has personalised apps with restaurant recommendations giving phone numbers for reservations as well as map directions- it nearly went flat after a day out and about. Joana was so helpful and couldn’t do enough for you- she even wanted to escort me to the local post office for stamps just so I found it. She directed us to the BEST Portuguese tarts that were close by and they were amazing. Parking is close by and there are a few options. The market over the road is being renovated but only during day hrs and didn’t impact our stay at all. Would definitely stay again.

Awesome Stay
The staff at the apartment was very friendly, helpful and genuinely nice people who were always ready to answer any question we had or help us with any issue. We had the loft. It was spacious, clean and more than met our needs. The apartments are conveniently situated across from the market and not far from the waterfront. We would go back and stay there again!

We stayed in the standard loft apartment. It was a perfect base for exploring the city. The room was well maintained and the staff very helpful. Joanne was fantastic and offered us lots of advice about what to see and do. The apartment was well equipped, kitchen and TV facilities excellent. Will definitely be staying here again.

Brilliant location with everything we needed
The location was perfect; metres away from Bolhao metro station (no changes required from airport) and within walking distance to all of central Porto. Duarte and Joana were both welcoming and helpful for our whole stay. The room was immaculately clean, very well equipped (down to ice cubes in the freezer) and had plenty of room to settle in for the week. I loved the coffee machine but ran out of pods and bought the wrong ones at the shop so be sure to only buy the same brand. The bathroom, although not pictured online, was clean with plenty of towels, a hairdryer, handsoap and shower gel provided. The glass shower cubicle had good power and hot water. I have only two small complaints. One is that it was extremely hard to avoid hitting my head on the sloping ceiling twice a day when getting on the bed. I am 5'4" so took the low side but even I gave myself a few good knocks when forgetting to crouch down. I understand it is a loft so options are limited, but it might be worth rearranging somehow to get the bed elsewhere. Second, the air conditioner was quite loud. I would still happily stay in that room again though.

We had the apartment on the second floor. Great modernly renovated apartment. Joana, the property manager, checked us in and was lovely. Property provides a smartphone for your stay with recommended restaurants, sights to see, wine cellars, etc with google maps so that you can navigate to each. Apartment was cleaned well every day. The only drawback we found is that the bathroom smelled like sewage, perhaps as it is an older building. This didn't detract much from our stay as everything else was great. Would stay here again.

A central location close to amenities and Metro!
When to assist my daughter who had finished her Erasmus year and the accommodation was ideal as we both had separate sleeping areas. There is a supermarket a few minutes away and it was like a home from home experience. The staff were very friendly and were most helpful We were able to leave our suitcases in a locker which was perfect!

Very close to metro station and bus stop, easy to navigate, helpful staffs, on site smartphones service with calling and data features, next to shopping areas ,restaurants, and attractions. No elevators but staffs helped carry luggages to the floor.

A home from home
The apartments was very clean and had all the amenities you need for a short break; even a washing machine. The bed was comfortable. Staff was incredible friendly and made you feel very welcome - almost like old friends or family. The apartment is well situated next to the metro station and within walking distance of the main sights, shops and restaurants. Would definitely stay again.

Bolhao apartment
Welcomed by Paula on arrival who showed us around the apartment and offered to point out on a map the local sights and eateries including where to have ‘the best’ francesinha (it was amazing), traditional Portuguese food in a local family run restaurant (the offal and white bean stew was really good), and of course pasteis de nata. Apartment was spacious and well laid out, bed was comfy, extra towels available. Wood floors a bit creaky in certain areas, but to be expected. The people in the second floor apartment were a bit heavy footed at times but we were out exploring most of the day. We didn’t use the kitchenette except the coffee machine and fridge but appeared well equipped including microwave, hob and dishwasher. Good WiFi connection. They also have a phone with app installed you can take out and use with maps and sights (we had inclusive minutes and data so downloaded the app onto our phones instead). Apartment within walking distance of major sights in our opinion; we walked everywhere, but Bolhao metro station is on the same road (direct train about 35min to/from airport) and there is a bus stop outside.

Week-long stay
We stayed for 7 nights while visiting Porto and northern Portugal. The department is in across the street from Bolhao Market and 40 yards from the entrance to the Bolhao Metro which is the line that goes to the airport.. Within walking distance to all major sights in Porto. The staff is very nice and helpful. The building has been fully renovated. There is not elevator and if you get the 3rd floor apartment as we did, be prepared for some extra exercise. The apartment has an agreement with a departmental store for parking at 10 Euros/day. which was helpful.

Great location, awesome staff, nice apartment
First off, the location of this apartment is great! It is right by the metro station that gets you to the airport as well as a 10 min walk to a major train station if you plan on training around to Coimbra, Lisbon, Aveiro, etc. The area is pretty quiet at night (not many restaurants for dinner) BUT is bustling with people and open stores (bakeries, restaurants, markets, SHOPPING) during the day. We were very happy with it. Check in & interactions with the staff were awesome. They were attentive, kind, and really aimed to please - even left us some pastries one morning! Check in and check out were both very smooth. The apartment itself is cozy and has everything you need. It was incredibly cleaned and well maintained, though it is slightly older feeling than the super modern/chic apartments you might find elsewhere. For myself & my parents though, it was more than enough for our 3 night stay! We were very happy with our time here. We love porto!

FANTASTIC!!!!!
This property is in an amazing location, right near the historic market and close to lots of great shops and restuarants. The apartment itself has everything I could imagine needing as a traveler. They even offer a library of movies to borrow. A cell phone is provided with google, google maps and an app created by the apartment company to help travellers with restaurant recommendations and tourist informatuon. The staff is also amazing!! The cleaning staff keeps everything very clean and neat. They even hung up our laundry which we left in the machine that morning before going out to tour. When we checked in Joana was extremely kind and helpful, even booking us a restaurant that we hoped to go to and did not think to book before arriving. There was not one single thing that was a negative about our experience and I can not recommend this property highly enough. Don't hesitate to book it!! Everything about this place is WONDERFUL!!!

Good place to stay for lots of different reasons
There are many good things about staying in Bolhao Apartments. First, it's really easy to get there from the airport, which is only 20-25 minutes away on a metro line that stops 3 minutes' walk away from the apartment (and which has up and down escalators), and amazingly the ticket costs less than 2 Euros. Also, the local metro stop offers connections to five different metro lines - and the sixth is only one stop away. So it's easy to get around the city if you don't want to walk. It's not situated on one of the quays overlooking the river and the iconic Ponte D Luis I... it's up at the top of the hill. That might sound disappointing but it means that you don't always have to walk UPHILL (or take the funicular) to get to most of the main sights. Some (for instance Avenida Aliados, Capela das Almas) are on the same level and accessing many more (like Se Cathedral, Torre dos Clerigos, Livraria Lello, Igreja das Carmelitas) only requires you to walk down gentle slopes. I also liked the fact that the apartments are located in an old building in a residential neighbourhood, with the Mercado Bolhao food market across the road, a Pingo Doce supermarket one street away and lots of high quality delicatessen type shops all around. So you get to see a slice of local life if you stay there.

Lovely spacious apartment great location
Lovely stay apartment was immaculate and comfortable. Great location in central position to all attractions. Only a couple of minutes from Balhao metro station. Joana could not have been more helpful showing us the apartment and then taking time to tell us about all the attractions on a map of Porto. The apartment also has its own phone for guests to use during their stay. Full of useful information about attractions and restaurants etc. Exceptional service. Guests should note there is no lift in the building. Thank you we hope to visit again.

Loved this apartment.
We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. The location was wonderful and Joanne was so helpful. I wasn't quite sure how this would work because it was apartments. We received an email prior to our visit with all the information. Joanne was there to greet us and give us helpful information. I couldn't recommend this any higher and if we ever have the opportunity to be in Porto again we will definitely stay at Bolhão apartments.

Staff Helpful and Next to Market
The staff are very helpful in showing you the pictures and guiding you to see all the points of interest by foot in Porto. The apartment is located next to the market, 1 minute walk to subway, and one street away from the main shopping street. The apartment is even equipped with a quiet washing machine.

Great service!
The best part of our stay was the individualized service and attention provided by Joann. Very good recommendations on restaurants. Thoroughly enjoyed the use of a cellphone that is provided free of charge.

My new favourite place
One of my new favourites places! Porto is an absolutely amazing and beautiful city with so much to do. The BO apartment we stayed in made this trip even better. The apartment was fully equipped, modern, clean, comfortable and had lovely traditional windows which let in lots of sunlight. The staff were so helpful in anything we needed and were always making sure to cater for our every need. The rooms come with a smart phone that you can take out with you every day with a built in app with recommendations on places to go, restaurants to eat at and much more. The app then connects to your maps on the phone which gives you live directions as you walk! Free data, calls and internat usage meaning you never need to worry about finding your way around the city. Never seen any hotel provide this service before and we used the phone every single day and night. We didn't know about this before and it made such a bonus to our trip! The location of the apartments is excellent with walking distance to most places. The metro is at the top of the street and delicious restaurants everywhere to walk to. I don't know what could of topped this place and trip! We were a couple who stayed for 5 nights and I didn't want to go home. I will highly recommend Porto and BO apartments to anyone.

Fabulous boutique hotel
Amazing hotel...like having your own apartment in central Porto...very clean...washing machine was a major bonus for us as we were travelling with carry on luggage..

Great central location, fantastic friendly people
Fantastic stay - despite late arrival nothing was too much trouble - made to feel very welcome. Perfect 10 min guide to two days in Porto with super restaurant reservations. Great central location and easy to access parking nearby. Handy to be able to leave luggage after checkout the next day.

Great apartment! Warning: stairs
The apartment was really well located in the old city center near most POIs. Really well appointed. Light and airy nice bedroom with good closet, bathroom with smallish but good shower. great kitchen (even has washer) and living room . The nicest people will give you every imaginable tip on what to see and eat with incredible patience. Our apartment was up 2 quite long flight of stairs which can be a problem for some people so beware. Really the only con in a perfect apartment.
