    About this property

Your Own Private Retreat in the Heart of the City

    Historic agritourism property in Portland
Enjoy a unique stay in one of Portland’s most published and celebrated home and acre garden. This serenely beautiful 19th century Queen Anne Farmhouse in the heart of Portland has been completely re-imagined by the artists and craftsmen of Lonesomeville to create a private world all it’s own. Each aspect was carefully designed and hand built to make the entire acre a unique piece of art. The first floor features a huge kitchen with banks of French pane windows looking out over the original farmstead and garden. A gas fireplace in the kitchen adds a warm ambiance to any evening. The kitchen also features two large service pantries with complimentary espresso, french press coffee, locally made bagels, orange juice, assorted wines, beer and other beverages. The dinning room features walls of enormous French pane widows looking onto the completely private gardens. The front rooms feature a large fireplace, comfortable seating and unique art. A large front porch, deep back porch and kitchen side sun porch round out the many ways to enjoy this amazing house. On the second story enjoy two large bedrooms with queen and double beds, mezzanine library stocked with hand selected books, a cozy gas fireplace, side sun porch/sitting room, and completely restored bathroom with a claw foot tub/shower all carefully hand crafted. For more than four guests or guests who would like an additional bedroom, we also offer the third floor garret nursery. This large third floor suite provides hand-planed, fir floors, sleeping alcove and a spectacular view of the grounds. Please note that because it is a garret bedroom the staircase to the third floor is particularly steep. Also, additional fees apply for use of the third floor or parties larger than 4 guests. Also, although we encourage all of our guests to enjoy the house and grounds with friends and family during their stay, additional fees may also apply to large events of over 20 guests. Please contact us if you are interested in hosting an event in the garden during your stay. Finally, if you have any questions regarding this unique place, please read our reviews. We strive to make our guests confortable and encourage you to come and enjoy a beautiful environment where your satisfaction is our highest goal.

            The Best!

Our hosts went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, from the coffee, wine and bagels to the wonderful conversations. The home is amazing and I enjoyed exploring all the woodwork and remodeling they did to bring this home back to its original glory. Best rental ever. If we attend Camp Starlight next year, we will definitely stay at Lonesomeville.

              Charming property

Where do I begin!!! Lonesomeville is absolutely charming! Every detail in the home is custom crafted by Danny & Wayne....Tables, chairs, tile inlay, cupboards, pottery, artwork and stunning gardens. Our hosts made us feel right at home. Wayne met us upon arrival, and gave us the entire tour of their masterpiece. He provided a refrigerator stocked with soda, beer and wine. Delicious coffee, juice and bagels were available for us every morning. I wrapped up in their cozy robes, and sipped my coffee on their expansive porch. We witnessed some amazing wildlife of blue jays, hummingbirds, squirrels and even a family of racoons! The beds were plush with fine pressed linens for a perfect nights sleep. The surround music was a delight...we never once put on the TV. Antique books were hand selected and placed in specific areas around the second floor. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and will be sure to visit again on our future visits to Portland.
