Old hotel, well maintained. It’s in a sort of rough area, though there is worse.. the rooms are clean, nice, and comfortable. The hotel sends some strange emails with very strict words about showing up late and leaving late and penalties for both. It’s odd. The staff is very nice in person though.. The sidewalks in the area seem like they’re regularly cleaned especially in front of the hotel, but there’s a lot of random poop EVERYWHERE in the blocks around the hotel. I’m not sure if it’s just this area or if Portland is somehow…poopy??

Nice hotel, be aware the bar is very LOUD and busy on weekends. Dinner place is a fancy steak house and I don’t think they do a breakfast.

Jake's Grill, the steakhouse, opens for breakfast at 7:30am and we do offer room service starting at 7am. I greatly apologize that was not made clearer and I hope you get a chance to enjoy our wonderful breakfast next time you stay at the Sentinel!

I was not given any grade as a VIP, the bathroom smelled, valet took far too long and was a whopping $60/night. Staff was somewhat helpful but not consistent and my room wasn’t cleaned one day.

On our valet tickets we do mention that it can take upwards of 20 minutes for the car, which is why we recommend calling down beforehand to make things smoother. A very classic and elegant looking property. The attached restaurant Jake's Grill has a good mixture of food, cocktails, beers and desserts. There are plenty of surrounding restaurants, shops, eateries and parking. Valet is an option as well. The staff was friendly, they helped my girlfriend find a siliac friendly restaurant and they're dog friendly. All around a perfect spot.

We stayed at this hotel for the Christmas weekend. Parking is only done by valet. Valet was instructed to manually lock the driver's door manually and would need the key to open the door. When we had the car brought to us the following morning, Christmas Eve at 1000) the car had been broken into. All windows intact so the only way to get in would be the drivers door was not manually locked. In August of this year, we stayed at this hotel for 8 days and never had a problem with parking. We completed an incident report and valet was given our contact information. After returning to the car at approximately 2200, we received a call at 2245 informing us the hotel would not park our car. They had the entire day to call us but waited to an impossible time to make a plan to park the car. Contacted the hotel and to date have not received any follow-up call.

We chose the Sentinel because it was dog friendly and we were impressed by the beauty of the building. The room was large and had a nice city view. The restaurant options in the building were fantastic too.

Overall, the stay was okay. Check checking in and checking out was super easy. When it came time to Valley my car. There was a huge weight which ended up being over 30 minutes for drop off and pick up. Once we got up to the room. Bro room was really nice once I drop something and looked. At me at the bed, it was really disgustit looked like it hadn't been vacuumed. And well over athere was actually chili. Prescription prescription drugs that someone left underneath the bed that looked like it spilled out. It definitely made me. Unhappy and unsure of the overall cleanliness of the room. I will definitely not be back

Great location, can walk to the pearl District. Friendly valet and front desk staff. Room was comfortable and clean. Only down side is the street car traveling is a little noisy at times, but zero reason not to stay.

This was such a nice boutique hotel. It's very cozy with very nice interior. I even had a working fireplace in my room. It's in the middle of downtown Portland, easy walk to several good places to eat.

This hotel is in a beautifully restored old building. The woodwork and stairs are just amazing. The Christmas decorations gave a wonderful ambiance and romance to the lobby and public areas. Jake's restaurant serves breakfast , lunch and dinner along with a great staff and busy fun bar. Front desk and text messages about valet and welcome were an extra bonus. Great, safe comfortable stay in downtown Portland. We walked everywhere and took the TriMet to restaurants. Thank you

Wonderful customer service from the start. Beautiful room, cozy seating, great view. Great dinner options on first floor. QR codes weren’t working for roomer service menu, front desk delivered a printed menu in less than 5 minutes. Looking forward to my next weekend visit.

Great property and great staff with great rooms. However, if you are driving, parking can be unsafe. Recommend parking with the valet but know that even when we stayed someone else who parked with valet had their car broken into.

Wonderful Stay!
Our stay was amazing! The front desk was always willing to help, ready with recommendations, and willing to go the extra mile to make our stay enjoyable. Dylan took care of us during our stay and even helped coordinate with other hotel workers to make sure that my room was properly lit for my interview. He always had a positive attitude and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Everyone at the hotel always greeted us whenever we entered/left the hotel as did the people at Jake’s Grill. The location of the hotel is close to everything, the rooms were very nice, and everything was clean.
