It was our first visit to southern Portugal and we had a rental car so we were able to drive to other beaches and as it turns out, the beach just down the hill from this place was the nicest. Not super busy and beautiful light sand. The hotel was nicely kept and clean and the hotel staff were friendly. Some cons for us were the cost of food and drink at the hotel. 9.5€ for a cocktail seems a bit pricey to me, especially when you can cross the street and buy cheap drinks from the mercado for less than 3€ each. The breakfast in the morning is really good but make sure you get it included in the booking of your room, otherwise again, really pricey. The staff for the most part were friendly but very stingy with things like ice and coffee pods. Also too, there are no pool policies at this hotel so people put their towel on the chairs by the pool at like 7am and then basically take off for hours not using their pool chair, monopolizing the chair for the entire day. We are beach people anyways but if I actually wanted to enjoy the pool this would be very annoying. Also one last thing to mention. At the end of every September there is a very large group of people who book many of the rooms and apartments every year. Although a lovely group, they are very loud and kinda take over everything. So if you were looking for a quiet couple vacay I would probably avoid this time of year. All in all, we figured out how to cut costs here and would stay again.
