Give this place a wide swerve. Go somewhere else.

Our stay at this hotel was terrible. The bannisters to the rooms were sticky. The toilet seats were chipped and broken. There was no shower over the bath. Could not use bath as disabled. Had to use washbasin. Breakfast was abominable. 1 Slice of bread left in bag crumbled so asked for more bread they had none only frozen. Had to eat danish pastry. Last one left. My husband had cooked breakfast that was fine. All in all a rather awful experience

    Missing a trick.

This historic hostelry is missing a trick. Staff under pressure and not easily available to deal with a problem. Room was OK but over warm. Shower room/toilet smelled damp and shower cubical had mould. The room decor was rather schizophrenic-flying duck wallpaper, plaid curtains, Jackson Pollock artworks,HUGE Poole Pottery lamps.

    4/5 Good

Apart from a very squeaky bed and a very hot room, (A fan was included in the room), i really enjoyed our stay. Breakfast area was really nice and the good really tasty. Great location. The pub was closed by 11pm, very quiet.
