Nestled in the countryside in the heart of a beautiful, preserved rural and natural environment of hedged plains, the last commune to have hosted a floating mill on the Doubs (one of the very last in France), Pontoux has a 27 ha pond also protected in "Natura 2000 Zone" (1.5 km away), a sensitive natural area unique in Burgundy (nesting of numerous birds with more than 130 species recorded including one of the largest colonies of black-crowned night herons in Saône-et-Loire). Spacious, comfortable gîte. Exotic country character with a "vintage" spirit, mixing the traditional atmosphere of a country house and "nineties" decorative touches.
