Nice hotel in Ponta Delgada
The Lince is a very nice hotel. The staff was very helpful in letting us store our luggage since our flight came in early in the morning before 3:00 check-in. We were told we'd be called when our room was ready, but we never were. Ultimately, we came back to the hotel at 2:00 and the room was ready. It would have been nice to have received a call so we could have checked in sooner. Otherwise, the breakfast buffet was nice, the room was clean, the hotel had good amenities for our short {1 night} stay.

They should offer a bundle laundry service. Charging 1 Euro per pair of underwear and $5 for shirt is a money grab. A bundle option should be given like hotels in Spain.

Nice hotel but unsanitary kitchen
The room was nice and comfortable and my rating would be higher if we didn’t witness the kitchen REUSING DIRTY PLATES to serve the next customer, repeatedly. We became ill with GI symptoms immediately after our stay and while we can’t say it’s due to the unsanitary measures, we do suspect it is.

Our stay at the Lince Azores was amazing! When we first got there, we had a few questions and things we were not familiar with in the staff helped us with everything they treated us so professionally and we’re so caring about our trip and making sure we were comfortable it felt like they really genuinely cared and that is very rare. The food there is amazing. The breakfasts are enjoyable, there is some thing for everyone and the staff is very caring and hospitable. The only thing that would be a negative is having to wait to get coffee from a machine. It was good coffee, however, waiting for it, and not knowing how to use it you might be in line for a little bit find someone who didn’t know how to use it. We were there for one dinner also and that was very very good. It was a Buffet and it was delicious. I would recommend this hotel and will definitely go back while visiting Sao Miguel. It is a beautiful hotel. The staff is very accommodating and they really want to make sure you have a good time. I wasn’t able to use the spa or the pool but we visited all and they looked lovely. The hotel was located centrally to everything as we had rented a car and for us it was a very convenient location. If I had to write this hotel out of five stars, I would rate it a five.

The staff was extremely accommodating and attentive. Parking is on site in an underground secure garage. Street parking may be available also, but we opted to park in the garage. We had a room on the top floor which was very spacious and comfortable. The room was neat and the layout was perfect for our needs. We kept the window open, and there was no noticeable city noise that would have bothered us. The location is a bit further to the waterfront compared to other hotel options, but still easily walkable. Easy to drive around and get to the highway with minimal traffic. Hotel has many great amenities. We took advantage of the daily breakfast which had plenty of quality options. Always great to be able to start your day without having to plan where to eat first. I would definitely choose to stay here again if I return to Sao Miguel.

This is a great hotel in Ponta Delgada. The lobby area is beautifully appointed and its large windows look out onto the street. The room (ours was on the Executive floor) was very comfortable, clean and quiet. One drawback is that the lighting in the room itself is insufficient making the room too dark at night even when all of the lights are on. A more serious issue is that there isn't anywhere convenient to park when you are checking in and if you don't have a room on the Executive Floor (or better,) then you have to pay for parking on-site. And, parking in Ponta Delgada is difficult, at best, as it is a very busy city with limited space for parking and enforcement is strict. The breakfast buffet is outstanding especially if you are a fan of Azorean cheeses! Fresh food, fruit and cheeses so do not miss out on it. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is beautiful and clean, daily breakfast buffet is available from 730 to 1030 with a nice variety of breakfast items and coffee from bacon, sausage, pancakes. Cereal, fresh fruits etc., having breakfast on location is a huge bonus. Staff are pleasant, friendly and helpful, and many speak English. There is free street parking on side of hotel but you take the gamble of coming home and no spots available, there is paid parking in lower level of hotel for I believe 6 euro a day which for me renting a car i want peace of mind knowing the car wont be sideswiped in those narrow streets. I have no complaints about the premises and would recommend it to family and friends.

Close to water front and city centre...10 min walk. Lots of parking around the hotel or underground paid parking. Large spacious clean room with view over the city and waterfront andvovercyp Sao Roque. Unbelievable breakfasts. They call it continental in the write ups and website, but it is a full english combined with a continental. Best breakfast variety that ive been offered. Hotel staff so polite and helpful. Facilities were excellent....indoor pool, sauna, wet sauna, hot tub ( could have been warmer, a little cool for me) but great after hiking thru the hills. Gym, billiards. Highly recommend.

Good location, more on the eastern side of Ponta Delgada but not a far walk to the main attractions and port area. Clean hotel, very comfortable bed, very good breakfast buffet, good WiFi. The staff was always helpful. Quiet area.

Overnight before going back to Canada
We were upgraded to the 6th floor “executive room”. King size bed, robes and fruit basket are nice. We had our dinner in the restaurant because we arrived late. Pizzas were very good and the steak excellent. The buffet breakfast had lots of variety. The indoor/outdoor pool and adjoining steam room and sauna were clean but the hot tub is not heated.

I’ve stayed there before when it was Holiday In back then it was a beautiful hotel, but know the place is rundown I had my hopes high looking for it to stay there well never again the hotel needs lots of care the room stunk pee from the little buckets that they dispose toilet paper the maids did not washed I called the front desk they gave me another one that smelled so I washed them and and used a plastic bag the bede was missing the cover one of the celling lights was off do not recommend this hotel very disappointing

Good location, rooms need makeover, no WIFI
The hotel is in a good location, however it hasn't changed in the last 11 years since we were last there. The lobby area is very nice, but once you go up onto the room floors things change. The carpet in the hallways are disgusting and have many stains on them and the hallway smells. The rooms appear clean at first but then there are stains around the bed material and the chairs had gross stains all over them. There was dust and dirt all over the floors too so we wore our shoes. The sheets are paper thin and bally due to them being worn, they clearly should have been changed. The only clean looking thing was the bathroom. They have a mini bar fridge which is ridiculous. They should allow the guests to put their drinks in the fridge. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was great, however they really need to clean up the appearance of the rooms. The WIFI was mostly unavailable. Every now and then you would get something but the 3 days we spent there we rarely got anything. For the price we paid I wasn't happy! The staff said we could come down to the lobby to use that one, but really, that isn't convenient, plus it was very hot there with no A/C. I would recommend the hotel for the location, but really nothing else.

Only if you're not counting on reliable WiFi.
Reasonably clean and comfortable hotel, especially for the price. However, there were many times, sometimes days, where the WiFi was not working. The first evening I arrived and tried to use the WiFi without success, the clerk at the desk told me that "this often happened with Macs", and when I finally did manage to log on but the connection was too slow that "apparently a lot of people were using the WiFi". Other than that I have no complaints, so if you're willing to walk a block to the next coffee shop then I recommend it.

I would not stay there again unless improvements were made. When I tried to check in, they told me there had been a flood and they had to move me to another hotel. I understand things happen, but the hotel I was moved to looked like it hadn’t been updated since the 70s. Not a hotel I would have booked. They did give me a voucher for a free buffet dinner (food was eh) and free parking for a night. I was able to move back to the Lince the following day and the room was decent but the pillows were horrible and the only way I could get even a hint of WiFi was to stand right next to the door. The next morning as I was rushing to check out to make my early morning flight, there was no one at reception! I had to track someone down at the closed restaurant so I could leave. Not something I felt like doing at 6 am. This could be a decent hotel if they update the pillows and WiFi and make sure there is staff available at all times.

Best staff and service. Bathroom showers just need an update. Sound proofing with the windows would be great as well; I can hear the trees rustled in the wind at night.

Nice hotel. Good location
Good location for both walking into town centre and also driving out of the resort to visit other areas. Food in hotel varied, and dining room staff friendly and worked hard to replenish food and keep tables clear. Parking available in hotel at extra cost, and there is on street parking around the hotel. Beds comfortable and plenty of space in bedroom.

Great Hotel
Hotel was clean decent standard , usually stay at smaller places , Lady on check in very helpfull with info about the Island , guy on bar very friendly , nothing to complain about would stay there again great job.

Good location, nice hotel
Good location, good price and the free pool table was a bonus! Our room was a little shabby (base of the beds were torn) but overall it was good. We had a twin room but each bed was big enough for two. We ate at the restaurant one evening and the food was delicious, in particular the regional steak. Breakfast had lots of choice but the coffee served at breakfast is poor. Lots of people were asking the waiting staff for an espresso or coffee from the machine they use when you order coffee at the bar.

Great stay
This trip was the first time my husband visited Sao Miguel. I had not been back over 17 years. We booked this trip through Expedia and we were very happy with the accommodations. The staff was very helpful and spoke English. Breakfast was included as part of our package . The hotel location was close to main attraction and reastaurants. Daniel at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful. We would go back and recommend this hotel to friends.
