Villa Diomede was very nice. Staff were helpful, clean room. Train track are close. The trains don’t run at night so a good nights sleep is possible 🙂. I would stay here again.

The room is very roomy. It is located in a very convenient location within walking distance to the pompeii archaeological park and 30 mins drive to Amalfi Coast. The only complaint is the A/C didn’t work well to cool down the whole room.

Close to Pompeii
Super nice staff, especially the very kind and helpful lady in the breakfast room (Gratzia?). She was excellent. Pros: Hotel was decently priced and quite adequate. There is an attractive courtyard, and our room was large. It's very conveniently located close to the Circumvesuvia train station and one of the entrances to Pompeii. Things that may matter to some travelers: There weren't any restaurants open within a few blocks of the hotel during our late October stay - we had to walk 20 minutes. The hotel is located right next to a train track, so you regularly hear trains going by from about 6:30 in the morning til 10:30'ish at night. We could also hear guests through the walls of our room. Wi-fi didn't work in the room sometimes, but would work outside on the veranda.

Gem at Pompeii
This is a nice little hotel located about an 8 minute walk from Pompeii Scavi train station. We arrived after 9:00 pm. The owner/operator met us and let us in the gate, checked us in, and provided us with useful information. He even watched our luggage while we toured Pompeii. Breakfast was good, all you can eat, and was 8 euro per person.

Nice hotel close to the entrance to pompei
Great location close to the train station by the historical site. When you travel to Pompei by train understand that there are two train stations in town, one for the city and one for people going to the historical site. We got on the wrong train and got off at the main train station in Pompei which is only a mile from the historical site. The hotel is very close to the second train station which is across the street from where you want to be.

good location for ruins
The location was excellent. It was a short walk to the ruins. We also were able to walk to restaurants and other parts of town. The breakfast was very good and they even have coffees made to order in the morning. It is right by some train tracks, so you can hear the trains running all day and into the night. But it isn't enough to disturb sleep. The taxi from the train station is about 10 euros.

Loved location for Pompeii area sites
Loved the location! Close to 4 other archeological sites and the train station. Although we were travelling by car we chose to take the train to Naples. We initially booked 3 days and added 1 more. The staff were great! And so satisfying to start the day with a good breakfast. Although the hotel is located near the train tracks, the train doesn't run between 10:30 pm and 6:30 am. Also within 1 1/2 km we walked to 2 very good restaurants.

Well placed small hotel with secure parking
Arrived late afternoon to be welcomed by a lovely smiley lady, check in was quick and easy as we do not speak a lot of Italian. We had an end room on the first floor outside was a small table and chairs which was a lovely touch the room itself was very well equipped inc a large shower lovely soft towels and could not find fault with the cleanliness.A real bonus was the secure free parking.Although the hotel was right next to a train line which was busy up to about 11 pm and began again about 7 am to us it was part of the experience and you should not let that put you off staying here. We found breakfast was more than adequate with plenty of choice and again we were greeted by the lovely smiley lady who seemed to do everything around the hotel by herself. I had read on Trip Advisor that some people had difficulty using sat nav finding the hotel try searching for the Pompeii Scavi site then you will see the road Via Diomede of which the hotel is situated on.

bad start got better
Well I had already maield the hotel to say I was coming late ie midnight due to flights and would someone be there as check in ends at 10pm, they said yes it would be ok. On arrival no one there and the place locked up, had to call a number than a man came didnt say anything much asked for passport gave me a key to a room and left, didnt help with the bags and didnt show me the room so iw asnt impressed. After this the service was ok the room was clean but some ants did get in occasionally, the buildings nice, its out of the way from most things, the train runs right next to the rooms so you will hear them, it wasnt a problem for me u kind of get used to it. I would stay there again just the inital meeting was not good. Close to the ruins and a Carrefour supermarket is about a 12 minute walk away where you will find much cheaper drinks than locally, wifi was good

Didn't go well
Overall not pleased with the experience. The good aspect is that you can walk to the Pompeii ruins from the hotel, and there is a gated car park for a car. The downside is that we had to wait for someone to come check us in after dark at 9pm, the first room that they checked us into had not been cleaned and had a lot of ants in it, we then had to wait again for him to come back, we then checked into a second room which we then found out the air conditioning did not work, then had to wait for him to come back again and confirm that he couldn't get it to work either, then finally just unpacked and stayed there anyways. He suggested talking to the front desk about moving the next morning, but we were checking out anyways. Beds were ok. Bathroom was very small. Breakfast was limited but ok. Usually for a one night stay I would not be picky, but this experience was quite poor.

Next to Pompeii Ruins
It was a clean, comfortable room located within walking distance from the Pompeii ruins. It also had a secured parking space that made it very easy to relax while we enjoyed the ruins. They offer breakfast but we left too early to enjoy in order to start a long trip to Venice. Overall I would visit again and recommend it to anyone who wishes to have a safe, clean environment while visiting the ruins.

Great for 1 day trip to see Pompeii ruins
A very clean, comfortable, small hotel located just minutes from the entrance to old Pompeii. Super friendly staff and extremely clean. Good breakfast buffet. Office staffed only during the day. Not sure how convenient if arriving later in the afternoon or at night. No stores or restaurants without a long walks to town.

Very cute hotel within walking distance of Pompeii
This hotel is very nice. We had a room for five people (2 adults, three kids) and we were very comfortable. Lovely courtyard, very clean rooms, full kitchen facilities. The free breakfast was wonderful. Staff was very friendly. They allowed us to leave our car parked in their lot after checkout while we visited the ruins. Highly recommend this to anyone spending a night in Pompeii.

Family of 5 Vacation
Across from Pompei Scavi. Arrived in afternoon to visit Pompei after day crowds left (no guides late though). Stayed in large room that slept 5. Had booked room that didn't mention it had a kitchen even though I saw that a room with kitchen had been already been booked so I thought there was just one and it was taken since the room pictures were different. Our room had a kitchen and there was a sign that said that it cost an extra 10 euros to use. I would have used it if I had known to bring food to cook. Was kind of a bummer since we had to walk pretty far for a not so great dinner since there is nothing else around. A little hard to communicate with staff because they didn't speak English. Great breakfast. They made great cappuccinos and the pastries were really good. There were pastries, meats, cheese, yogurt, breads, cereals, etc for breakfast. It was a comfortable place to stay for the one night. It was really close to the train track (2 hotel fronts over). The train didn't stop there and it didn't bother us but it might bother some.

Good hotel. Close to ruins entrance.
Stayed one night to visit the ruins and climb the volcano. The hotel is well situated to do both. It is about a 5-7 minute walk from the rail stop (also the pick up point for buses to the volcano) and the main entrance to Pompei. The walk is along a busy enough road, but a bit isolated as it follows next to the archeological site. Restaurants were past the site entrance. Hotel was clean and modern. The owners friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a decent buffet and filling to start the day.

Excellent location
The hotel is a short walk from the Pompeii ruins and the train station. We were traveling with five people and despite being in one room we were comfortable. It was air conditioned. This is a plus. Breakfast was also included. The hotel had parking, but beware of ants. Do not leave any food in the car. Overall it was a good place to stay for a night while visiting the ruins.
