Special instructions weren't passed onto property, so sofabed wasn't made up on arrival. Had to wait 30 minutes for someone to make it up, during which time I couldn't shower/change (as waiting) so delayed my evening significantly. McDonald's wrapper found on the floor, so room not adequately cleaned. Every other guest seemed to have robe and slippers for spa, nothing in our room. Assume another failure of cleaning staff. Reception staff (Antonio?) indifferent, blamed Expedia. Breakfast excellent, to their credit. Sadly not the worst hotel I've stayed in in Brighton, but still wouldn't come back here.

Room was lovely but there were a few things to improve on. Check-in was delayed as room wasn't ready which is really inconvenient with a 2 year old. Pool facilities really need upgraded. Sockets didn't work in room, kettle didn't work and toilet didn't flush

Lovely hotel with great views. Had an issue on arrival as the images of the bathrooms on Expedia looked nothing like in real life (shows lovely spacious bathroom with wall in waterfall shower and ended up being cramp room with a tiny bath, horrible screen and rubbish shower) I complained to the front desk and they ended up moving us as said it wasn’t a fair description on Expedia site to the actual reality Staff were fantastic and hotel is lovely (unless it’s the bathrooms in queen rooms) Would happily stay again but only in king rooms

Great location and venue.
Friendly staff. Warm welcome. Paid Parking available but very low entrance so only low cars can access. Mall Parking opposite was a bit higher. Restaurant had reasonable dinner options. Breakfast was very packed and 2nd room used as overflow had fewer amenities.

Room was immaculately clean but was very dark, not sure why there isn't enough lights in the room? Checkin took ten minutes before we were seen. Had a cocktail in the bar, but later in the evening used The Grand next door, as a far better cocktail menu in that hotel. lovely internal building, and a nicer place to stay

The hotel is very well located on the seafront.The room was lovely and clean and all the staff we encountered were were polite,attentive and helpful.The standard of decoration was high and added a sense of luxury and there were several beautiful Christmas trees.We liked the breakfast but felt it would be even better if not all self service.Likewise the room would be even better if had a fridge and towel/dressing gowns.Also having letters missing from Metropole external sign doesn't give a good first impression.

Our Most Recent Stay at Double Tree By Hilton
We have stayed at this very comfortable Hotel before, so were looking forward to the same high standards as we previously experienced. Whilst the Hotel was as clean and welcoming as before, we were a little disappointed with our particular room, room 185. The room itself was of a good size and very comfortable but the en suite bathroom was small and, being partially disabled, was difficult to use. The wash basin is far too large and meant that the space between it and the entry to the shower cubicle was narrow and, given you had to step up into and down out of the cubicle itself somewhat potentially dangerous. Similarly, the space between the front edge of the wash basin and the toilet was so close that twice I hit my head on the front of the wash basin when sitting onto the toilet. In our humble opinion, a much smaller wash basin in this bathroom would resolve those issues. The only other problem with this room in the evening was the noise! Somewhere close to this room there must be either some sort of machinery or huge extractor system as we were disturbed by the constant, almost drumming type of noise throughout our stay. In conclusion, if staying next time at this otherwise fine hotel, I would seek to avoid being allocated Room 185.

Had an overnight stay in queen superior with ocean view, had afternoon tea booked in for the next day also. The room was clean but tiny, the bed was double and also a open sprung mattress of pretty poor quality, the bathroom was the size of a postage stamp,the smallest i have ever seen. we were hastled by the maids twice to when we were vacating the room, once at 9am and then again at 9.45am, porr as check out is 11am. There was a bottle of watwr in the room howrver the seal was.broken do quite poor.The price paid for a Hilton hotel and the facilities receuved were sub standard. We then had an afternoon tea booked for the next day which was a dissapointment. The room itself was mostly taken up by business meetings, interviews and this didnt make the occasion feel special. We had coffees and my wifes spoon was dirty, so we had to get another spoon from a table. the afternoon tea itself was quite bland, thr sandwiches were ok but the presentation again was poor, one sandwich had half a bit of bread used as it seeeed it was the end of the loaf. There was no other savoury bites, no sauage rolls, quiche etc. There were 4 scones all the same bit overkill, and some deserts which were nice but again nothing special. We sat by the window looking out to the sea front next to the outsude terrace. I noticed all the unberellas on the terrace were dirty and all ripped, torn and weathered. Being a Hilton this eyesore at the front of the hotel is poor standards and lack of investment.

Great breakfast with plenty of options and intolerance friendly. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. Great to have a car park on site but steep to have to pay as an add on to the room price. Water in the bathroom and the spa was tepid, was too cold to wash my hair!
