Best place ever !

Posted 25-Jul-2016
Pros: i loved the quiet vibes . I loved the all inclusive perks , wonderful and friendly wait staff !
Cons: I cant think of anything that could be improved .
Location: the location was great - a hop skip and jump in a taxi to get around town and do different things .
I loved the turtle bay ! Not only was staff friendly , polite and funny , but it was like our own private get away ! We ate so much some nights we didnt even want dinner - the menu was wonderful the food was delicious ! the beach was so close - and i really enjoyed watching the waves while eating. the Entertainment was enjoyable , the drinks were perfect ! I loved seeing the turtles come up and lay eggs . My Fav vacation ever !!! i will def be back to turtle bay resorts !

R & R July 2016

Posted 15-Jul-2016
Very nice place on the beach no need to go swimming elsewhere. I would definitely return. However, the success of any place depends on the staff. Most of the staff were cordial while others were straight up "hogish" Trinidad terminology. Especially one of the cooks on the breakfast grill. No sweat I know how to ingnore. People go on vacations for many reasons. If you ask the guests what's the occasion or what they are celebrating the hotel should at least help them celebrate. Nada. Other resorts do it it shows appreciation. At breakfast no one monitored to refill. Bread took too long to be refilled. The staff just is not giving 100% and it's the way they earn a living. Failure. I went for a quiet stay and I got that. But they need to do more to keep things going. I expected dancing to soca and calypso. One of the bar tenders -- not Big J were playing inappropriate music with families who had kids with them. Karaoke was good. But guests had to retire after that or get drunk. Step up people. Liven things up a bit.

Room With a View

Posted 27-Jun-2016
Pros: Location
Location: Nylon Pool is a short taxi ride and boat ride from hotel. We didn't rent a car but tours guides could be booked through the front desk.
Had a wonderful three days here. Location was super and the staff certainly made us feel at home. Esther, at reception, was amazing. She was on duty when we checked in at midnight and was still there the following afternoon. We called her "Wonder-Woman". She was never "rattled" when on the phone, with customers waiting at the desk. Just took her time and took care of everyone. We didn't see the turtles but that was our fault. We should have requested a call at any time of the night. Food was excellent and we certainly didn't go hungry. Met quite a few people who were "returns" at this resort and hope we will be a "return" in the not-too-distant-future.

Would Not Stay Here Again

Posted 05-Feb-2016 on Orbitz
This is a 2 star hotel. The food, the service, the staff were all bad to blunt. The Bartender was horrible. There was only 1 bar, the pool bar. 1 Dining option. The room needs to upgraded. Our air condition was blowing warm air. You could not use the beach, because the waves will swept you away. The Padlock the entry door at night. Stay somewhere else. It was not worth the money. I should of ask for a refund because we had to go out and eat ad drink.

A disappointing vacation

Posted 30-Dec-2015
At checkin there wasn't an option to pay for early checkin No welcome drinks received 2 rooms , 220 & 221, given at 3:15pm and 3rd room 222 at 4:45 No kettle in room 220, my room, even though there was tea and coffee Hotel checked out my room 220 a day before departure, packed my bags and sent to lobby Spoke to general manager about my terrible experience and was partially compensated but memories can't be replaced

Nice Pool

Posted 23-Dec-2015
Pros: Wonderful pool. Serene environment.
Cons: Food
Location: There are taxis working right in front of the hotel so you do not need to call a private taxi. Travelling is very simple.
The location for this hotel is superb. The hotel is located on the beach and in a serene location. It is great if you want to relax and get away from it all. The food was sufficient but not great. I think they should cook food more aligned with the Trinidad and Tobago culture, like crab and dumpling and doubles for the visitors to enjoy.

With better - and happier - service, this could be a great resort.

Turned Turtle

Posted 18-Nov-2015 on Hotels
It's all about the beach and the pool area. Pool should have opened at 0900 but was often still being cleaned at 0930. The pool quickly collected small insects on the surface. The food was repetitive and uninspired but had a Caribbean flavour which was good but presentation was poor. Salad was cucumber and tomato, lettuce or cabbage. The draft/tap beer ran out for four days as did the brandy. The whole place appeared to be running on a tight budget. Some staff were excellent others were surly . We stood around at the Hotel Managers Reception "party" not knowing who the manager was or if he was even there. There was no welcome and it was just dull. The public areas could do with refurbishment. All said we had a relaxing holiday but would suggest not going all inclusive just B&B.
