Central for both ##### Verified traveller ### 6/10 Okay #### Brian, Manchester 17 Aug 2016 Liked: Staff & service #### mediocre. Could be lovely Our room looked onto courtyard which would have been nice but not cleaned after wedding reception on the Saturday night. Wall ashtrays overflowing, broken glasses pushed to one side on the ground. The courtyard wasn't cleaned until the Tuesday and ashtrays still full when we left. Friendly staff and meals reasonable.Tables cleaned butvery sticky. ##### Brian ### 10/10 Excellent #### Verified traveller 16 Aug 2016 Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities, room comfort ##### Verified traveller ### 10/10 Excellent #### Hilary 30 Jul 2016 Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities, room comfort ##### Hilary ### 2/10 Terrible #### george, Portsmouth 18 Jul 2016 Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities, room comfort #### Avoid! Possibly the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. Room was filthy, the people there were rude, bed was falling apart and unlike how it is advertised there is NOT free wifi in the rooms. Stained carpets, holes in the doors and curtains so thin you could see through them. Overall very uncomfortable and not enjoyable in the least. ##### george ### 4/10 Poor #### Toby, London 7 Jul 2016 Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities, room comfort #### Would not recommend When we arrived, the hotel asked me to pay for the room (I had already paid the full balance on booking). Check in took over half an hour even though we were the only people trying to check in. We were then given the wrong room key so had to return once again to the reception desk. When we got into the room it was freezing cold. The rest of the room was underwhelming at best. There was no mention anywhere of when the kitchen closed, and breakfast was in no way worth £8.50! ##### Toby ### 10/10 Excellent #### Verified traveller 6 Jun 2016 Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities, room comfort I found it to be very friendly and the food good. ##### Verified traveller ### 6/10 Okay #### Verified traveller 29 Apr 2016 Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service #### Pleasant for a one night stop. A pleasant stop off on the way to Cornwall. Quiet and peaceful. Staff Helpful. We had a dog, but nowhere safe to walk him, The Hotel was clean and comfortable, but very jaded with chipped paint in places. ##### Verified traveller ### 6/10 Okay #### Verified traveller 26 Apr 2016 Liked: Staff & service Disliked: Room comfort Wifi was non existent and hadn't been for some time. Hotel conveniently situated next to A38 to get to Plymouth yet far enough back not to get traffic noise ##### Verified traveller ### 6/10 Okay #### Hannu, Helsinki 10 Apr 2016 The room was big enough and the bathroom was large. The breakfast was OK. Unfortunately the room was in the second floor and there were no elevators.I you just want to stay overnight - hotel is good for you. ##### Hannu ### 10/10 Excellent #### Keith, Coventry 7 Apr 2016 Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities, room comfort #### Fantastic fresh food and a very relaxing break. The most outstanding feature of this hotel was the care and attention paid by the staff, and uppermost was the standard of the food served in the restaurant. The chef took time to discuss any dietary issues and produced the most superb dishes. ##### Keith ### 8/10 Good #### Verified traveller 29 Mar 2016 Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities, room comfort ##### Verified traveller ### 6/10 Okay #### Ray, Wareham, Dorset 9 Mar 2016 Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, room comfort #### Convenient for Plymouth / South West. Good value Very convenient for Plymouth / South West just off A38 but in a rural setting. Stay very pleasant, room clean and comfortable, staff very friendly. Reception, Bar and Restaurant area very nice. Some areas do need addressing though as it lets the hotel down. Good value for the money. ##### Ray ### 6/10 Okay #### Lorraine, Plymouth 8 Mar 2016 Liked: Cleanliness, room comfort Disliked: Staff & service #### Pleasant stay Pleasant stay... Staff friendly, but not over welcoming when l first arrived. Room was good and clean. Would stay there again. ##### Lorraine ### 4/10 Poor #### Anastasia, London 7 Mar 2016 Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities, room comfort #### Smelly, Sewage room. The place was dirty, smelled, and the bathroom had a lovely aroma of sewage. ##### Anastasia ### 4/10 Poor #### Jay, South West 4 Mar 2016 Disliked: Property conditions & facilities, room comfort #### Cold Room.... No Wifi! I had booked in for two nights on business. No/very intermittent wifi meant I could get no work done (unless I was stood by the windowsill and using 4G on my phone!). Breakfast was an additional cost of £8.50 - I was unaware of this until I arrived (perhaps that was my fault for not checking when booking!). Drafty windows meant the room was cold and the A38 traffic noise was quite apparent. Dining area was very well kept, but rooms were more 'motel or poor B&B standard. Very disappointed as the website gives a different impression. Oh..... and it also seems to be a regular haunt for foul mouthed road contractors! ##### Jay ### 4/10 Poor #### Dave, Notts 9 Feb 2016 Disliked: Property conditions & facilities, room comfort #### Wifi or not Wifi I chose this hotel because it was close to my destination and rather than go with one of the major chains I prefer to support local businesses. They advertise free Wifi another reason why I chose this hotel. So following my business meeting I intended to catch up on work in the comfort of my room. However the wifi was not working and after a few tries I called reception. The response was classic! "Someone might be downloading a movie and it's only a domestic broadband hub" was the first excuse. Well, beef up your broadband and put restrictions on what guests can do! Next excuse "it's not very good, that's why it's free" has to be the most gobsmacking excuse I've ever heard! Food wasn't bad, room is basic but clean. Electrics are dodgy to say the least - too many extension leads cross crossing around the room. ##### Dave ### 6/10 Okay #### Rebecca 21 Jan 2016 Liked: Staff & service Disliked: Room comfort ##### Rebecca ### 2/10 Terrible #### Brian, Torquay 30 Dec 2015 Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities, room comfort #### Water torture The window above the bed had a leak and was dripping all night, I had to put a towel in the window sill to stop it splashing on me. Got very little sleep and when I complained got no offer of any money back. Never again ##### Brian ### 2/10 Terrible #### gina, Leicester 9 Nov 2015 Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities, room comfort #### Awful hotel Tired and musky rooms - we booked 3 rooms. Bathrooms had old and worn out vinyl floors and bathroom suite. WiFi failed to work and had to go elsewhere locally to get the connection. The interior of the hotel does not match the exterior look. You are better off staying in one of well known chains of Hotels such as ibis or Travel Lodge locally. ##### gina ### 2/10 Terrible #### ashitkumar, leicester 6 Nov 2015 Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities, room comfort #### avoid this hotel awful hotel - old, tired, musky and in a bad state of repair; booked 3 rooms and all of them were bad. Don't waste your money here and stay in a bed & breakfast or a travel lodge ##### ashitkumar ### 8/10 Good #### Katie, Plymouth 31 Oct 2015 Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities, room comfort #### I hope to go back again soon Very comfortable albeit a wee bit chilly in the room. Wifi was non existent. Had a housekeeper try to open the door without knocking before check-out time - slightly odd but not a great problem! Friendly reception staff. A good place to stay especially for the decent price! ##### Katie ### 6/10 Okay #### Verified traveller 21 Oct 2015 Liked: Cleanliness Disliked: Staff & service, property conditions & facilities ##### Verified traveller ### 4/10 Poor #### Cin, Canada 1 Sept 2015 Liked: Staff & service Disliked: Property conditions & facilities, room comfort #### Off the beaten track. Friendly staff but facilities needed a major makeover. Decor was fine, water stained ceilings, musty smelling carpet, stale smoky air in hallways. No wifi in rooms. Restaurant was not available. Loud and boisterous. ##### Cin ### 4/10 Poor #### Diana, Southampton 28 Aug 2015 Disliked: Staff & service, property conditions & facilities #### VERY DISAPPOINTING Have stayed here before and found it good - and a very convenient location for us. However, we understand there has been a change of management and were very disappointed this time. No hangers in the wardrobe for clothes. A dreadful smell of damp in the room due to a leak in the bathroom which had not been dealt with. Our door would not lock from the inside (and it was a ground floor room)so we had to barricade ourselves in for the night! But, worst of all, there was a fire alarm at 7.30am. We were at our bedroom door in bed clothes (as were other guests) awaiting instructions from staff and the staff completely ignored the alarm and told us nothing. No one came out and said 'we're sorry but it's a false alarm....so sorry you were disturbed'. They continued as if nothing had happened. You cannot have instructions on the back of the bedroom door stating guests must collect in the car park in the event of a fire alarm and then let your staff do NOTHING when a fire alarm goes off. That is appalling - and dangerous. We reported this to the girl on reception who did not seem to see the seriousness of it. They will have to get their act together if we are to stay there again. ##### Diana ## Expedia's Latest Trends ### Hotels > [The Coppid Beech Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Bracknell-Hotels-The-Coppid-Beech-Hotel.h3809.Hotel-Information) > > [Carden Park](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Chester-Hotels-Carden-Park.h190780.Hotel-Information) > > [Hampton by Hilton London Gatwick Airport](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Gatwick-Hotels-Hampton-By-Hilton-London-Gatwick-Airport.h7234788.Hotel-Information) > > [Hampton by Hilton London Stansted Airport](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Stansted-Hotels-Hampton-By-Hilton-London-Stansted-Airport.h18464320.Hotel-Information) > > [Stratford Manor Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Stratford-Upon-Avon-Hotels-Stratford-Manor.h27936.Hotel-Information) > > [Ashford International Hotel & Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Ashford-Hotels-Ashford-International-Hotel.h527123.Hotel-Information) > > [Retallack Resort](https://www.expedia.co.uk/St-Columb-Major-Hotels-Retallack-Resort.h4537229.Hotel-Information) > > [Bloc Hotel London Gatwick Airport](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Gatwick-Hotels-Bloc-Hotel-London-Gatwick-Airport.h6594190.Hotel-Information) > > [Sand Bay Holiday Village](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Weston-Super-Mare-Hotels-Sand-Bay-Holiday-Village.h11443695.Hotel-Information) > > [St Michael's Resort](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Falmouth-Hotels-St-Michaels-Resort.h2951426.Hotel-Information) > > [Crowne Plaza Stratford Upon Avon by IHG](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Stratford-Upon-Avon-Hotels-Crowne-Plaza-Stratford-Upon-Avon.h11307.Hotel-Information) > > [Hilton London Gatwick Airport](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Gatwick-Hotels-Hilton-London-Gatwick-Airport.h20753.Hotel-Information) > > [Norbreck Castle Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Blackpool-Hotels-Norbreck-Castle-Hotel.h6377.Hotel-Information) > > [Eastwell Manor, Champneys Hotel & Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Ashford-Hotels-Eastwell-Manor.h905662.Hotel-Information) > > [Camelot Castle Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Tintagel-Hotels-Camelot-Castle-Hotel.h8083111.Hotel-Information) > > [Hollins Hall Hotel, Golf & Country Club](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Shipley-Hotels-Hollins-Hall-Hotel.h63744.Hotel-Information) > > [Chesford Grange Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Kenilworth-Hotels-Chesford-Grange.h920291.Hotel-Information) > > [Grand Burstin Hotel Folkestone](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Folkestone-Hotels-Grand-Burstin-Hotel-Folkestone.h1201483.Hotel-Information) > > [The Mill Hotel & Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Chester-Hotels-The-Mill-Hotel-Spa.h1695656.Hotel-Information) > > [Village Hotel Manchester Ashton](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Ashton-Under-Lyne-Hotels-Village-Hotel-Manchester-Ashton.h1848975.Hotel-Information) > > [The Winchester Hotel & Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Winchester-Hotels-The-Winchester-Hotel-Spa.h26080.Hotel-Information) > > [Hilton at St George's Park, Burton Upon Trent](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Burton-On-Trent-Hotels-Hilton-At-St-Georges-Park.h5094740.Hotel-Information) > > [Radisson Blu Hotel Manchester, Airport](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Manchester-Hotels-Radisson-Blu-Hotel-Manchester.h120016.Hotel-Information) > > [The Spa Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Royal-Tunbridge-Wells-Hotels-The-Spa-Hotel.h8849.Hotel-Information) > > [Hythe Imperial Hotel Spa & Golf](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Hythe-Hotels-Hythe-Imperial-Hotel-Spa-Golf.h9108.Hotel-Information) > > [The Rutland Arms Hotel, Bakewell, Derbyshire](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Bakewell-Hotels-The-Rutland-Arms-Hotel.h792056.Hotel-Information) > > [Harbour Beach Club & Hotel](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Salcombe-Hotels-Harbour-Beach-Club-Hotel-Spa.h2261933.Hotel-Information) > > [Fistral Beach Hotel and Spa - Adults Only](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Newquay-Hotels-Fistral-Beach-Hotel-And-Spa-Adults-Only.h1895493.Hotel-Information) > > [Worcester Whitehouse](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Worcester-Hotels-Worcester-Whitehouse.h18498.Hotel-Information) > > [Cotswolds Hotel & Spa](https://www.expedia.co.uk/Chipping-Norton-Hotels-Cotswolds-Hotel-Spa.h13106835.Hotel-Information)
