"Modern clean quiet hotel close to dark sand beach"
Modern hotel, stayed in comfy junior suite with great sea views! Located in playa del cura, not much happening there, which was quite nice actually. Proper get away.
Extremely easy by bus to get any where including fabulous amadores and puerto rico beaches.
We felt welcomed by friendly hotel staff during our 6 night stay.
Originally booked for a sea view room but as they didnt have any left, they offered us All inclusive and sea view in their sister hotel, the Gloria Amadores.
Apparently they had a lot of rain the previous week so had to shut a part of the hotel.
We decided to stay in the same hotel and sacrifice the sea view, having turned down their offer of an "upgrade".
In turn, we didn't regret that decision as we were impressed by the half board buffet breakfasts and dinners, the infinity pool and free access to spa. Also we had visited the Gloria Amadores for the Thalasso Spa Experience and based on what we saw of the hotel, we were pleased we stayed at the Gloria Royal instead.
This hotel is recommended if you are looking for a quiet relaxing break. It feels a bit secluded, hosts a lot of the older generation and Puerto Rico town isn't great for night life for young adults however on the whole it was a pleasant stay at the hotel itself.
"Excellent quality hotel, good staff and position "
Very good stay with quality facilities and staff and an excellent resort. One slight thing was that only 2 sittings for evening meal either 6.00pm or 8.30pm. 6.00pm bit early and 8.30pm a bit late. Would have been much better to have freedom dining, which would have worked out OK over the evening.

We stayed here for 3 nights before moving on to my inlaws timeshare. I'd notified them that my inlaws were elderly with limited walking and we were given excellent rooms next to each other with direct access to the pool.
The breakfast was superb, with everything you could want to each, served hot and very tasty.
The pool area was clean and well kept as were the gardens.
We would definitely return to this hotel.
Pocket Guide: Gran Canaria Playa de Mogan - Puerto Rico Hotels
The village of Playa de Mogan clings to the cliffs above a curving beach of golden sand imported from the Sahara. The harbor area, with its pedestrian walkways, is knows as the “Venice of the Canaries.” There is a marina here, along with restaurants and souvenir shops. The town of Puerto Rico, to the south, also has a marina, as well as a gently sloping, child-friendly beach.
