"The beach access was incredible. The staff were extremely accommodating. The common areas were beautiful. The overall vibe was not for me. It lacked a connection with the surroundings. It is probably well suited for most travelers looking for a nice beach vacation. I wanted something more tranquil. My biggest disappointment was the food. The restaurant food was just ok. I ended up going to other places in town for most of my meals. There are three pools that are all clean and refreshing. The receptionist let me in on a tip that one of them was much quieter than the others and she was spot on. I spent a few hours there pleasantly undisturbed. The highlight for me was the sloth who was hanging out on the property, the howler monkey who let us know he was nearby every evening and morning, and other wildlife that I saw while exploring the property. Overall I still feel it is an above average hotel and I would stay there again if I return to explore Cahuita national park more."

"My wife and I had a wonderful time at Beachfront Bungalows! It's a beautiful, well-maintained property, the room was exactly what we needed, the food was delicious and the staff was very friendly and helpful. It was a very peaceful and wonderful place to spend a week, surrounded by nad close in proximity to Manzanillo, Coccles and Puerto Viejo. We would definitely visit Bungalows again!"

"We enjoyed our stay. The grounds were beautiful and the beach was awesome with a small protected area with little waves. Breakfast was delivered to our room and enjoyed on our patio daily. The pool was nice (not freezing) and we saw Tucans and Iguanas."

"What a beautiful property! The beds were comfortable, the rooms ere clean, and everyone was very helpful and friendly. We especially loved walking through the garden and to the beach and watching the monkeys play in the trees overhead during breakfast. And the food was fantastic! We would definitely stay again. "Air conditioning was such a blessing here! The food and drinks were on par with the best in the area. We had a nice private beach area as well. Pool was colder than the ocean and thank goodness it was because it was very warm out when we arrived. The hotel was more quiet than being within all the bars and restaurants but close enough to enjoy at our leisure which we really appreciated. The staff especially Yusmary was very considerate and helpful. We wouldn’t change a thing about our choice to stay here."

"Fourth time to Costa Rica and this time was definitely the best, in large part due to how well this beautiful property was able to accommodate our extended family (9 people). The main house is thoughtfully designed and stocked with everything you need. The furniture and bedding are high quality and functional. What really separates the property though is that there are two separate cottages, a separate laundry room, and an incredible covered outdoor area near the pool with a huge grill. Everything wonderfully maintained. Walking to the beach, the grocery store, and a handful of restaurants is easy, and you can grab a tuk-tuk to central puerto just as easily. I was surprised by how much the area had to offer compared to our last visit 10 years ago - definitely excited for the chance to come back as soon as we can!"

"Our family stayed for a second time at the Kukula Lodge and it again exceeded expectations. The owners and staff are friendly and helpful, the grounds are extremely well-kept, rooms are clean and comfortable, breakfast is plentiful and delicious . . . and the lodge is just a few minutes' walk to the beach. To top it off, the price is very reasonable- what more could you want? It was truly a pleasure to stay at Kukula Lodge and we will certainly be back!"
