What a fabulous property! Stay in a former castle that has been painstakingly updated for comfort. There's not a more convenient and centrally located space whether traveling by train (the hotel is visible from the station) or car with parking onsite. Great breakfast overlooking the garden and several spots for drinks and gathering. A must for any bucket list and don't miss the Pitlockry Festival theater productions while you're there.

We stayed in a Special Occasions Room where there was mold in the shower, and the curtains were not fixed to the rail by all the hooks. There is no air conditioning. The room was very hot and only one window opened. The rest were painted shut. The staff at reception were very professional, but spoke very quickly making difficult to understand what was being said if you are hard of hearing (which I am) or if English is not your first language. Breakfast was self service and there was something for every taste. It was eaten in the Ballroom which reminded me of school dining hall - noisy! We did not have an evening meal in the hotel so I can't comment on that. The coffee was excellent, both in the room and at breakfast.
