This hotel met all of my expectations! The views were amazing and the staff was nice and welcoming. Great location! Could walk to restaurants and rent & ride a bike to Shell Beach or Avila Beach. This hotel had walking paths that led to the beach and their pool and hot tub facilities were nice. If definitely recommend this hotel!
I took my wife on a last minute weekend getaway to Hearst Castle and decided to stay at the Dolphin Bay Resort in Pismo Beach (CA). The room and resort was very nice, it was clean, and the resort staff greeted us and gave us great service. The room was spacious and luxurious! The resort restaurant (Lido) was also a great place to eat and enjoy the view.
We stayed two nights in the middle of the week. We were upgraded to a room with a view of the pier on the first floor. Having the patio to sit out on in the mornings and evenings were great. The breakfast was a little crowded in the morning but was good. Staff was very, very friendly. The room was very clean. The internet worked perfectly. We are already planning our trip back for next summer. Try to stay during the weekdays if possible so it's not too crowded on beach and in town.
I thought I was getting partial view room but was sandwiched between 2 parking lots. I accidentally got locked out of my room at 11:15 at night ( I had to retrieve my charger in the car) without my phone in my pajamas. There was no way to contact anyone, the office closes at 11. No one answered knocking. Fortunately my neighbors were just arriving home from a wedding. We couldn't dial the office from our room or even out for that matter??? We were able to call the hotel # from on line on one of their cells and I waited over a half an hour for someone to show up and let me in. Not having anyone on the property for emergency's is a fail in my book. What would I have done if my neighbors didn't show up?? Also my neighbors requested a cot because they had 3 people, they did not have one nor did the person who showed up have access to none so I gave them my quilt to sleep on.
