"Lovely hotel near the lifts and a great staff"
We had a generally nice stay for 3 nights in February. Probably the stand out feature of the hotel is the staff. Everyone was very pleasant, helpful, and concerned for the guests' comfort. The hotel is within a 10 minute walk to the lifts, and so it is convenient. Although the building is slightly older, it has a great lobby and sitting area near the fireplace, and a pleasant breakfast room. The breakfast selection was pretty good for such a small hotel, and the cookies at night were delicious. Breakfast and parking are included, so the value received was fine. The room was spacious, with a comfortable bed, a table and two comfortable chairs, another chair on the other side of the room, plenty of storage, and cable TV with around 70 channels. The bathroom is somewhat aging and small, but worked fine. Unfortunately, we had two concerns that lowered our rating. First, on the 2nd night the boiler went down late in the evening, and so everyone woke up to room temperatures around 60F and no hot water. The staff was very apologetic, and the problem was fixed before 10 a.m. that morning, so we weren't terribly inconvenienced. Second, the power to our room went down 3 times in one day. It happened to only two rooms, and we later found out that when a hair dryer was used in the room below us, it tripped the breaker. Since it was just a breaker, it the power was turned back on in a few minutes each time. Other than those two problems, our stay was fine and we would probably stay again.
