Best in Kata
We love it here. The pool is great, nice and deep, the views of Kata Beach are spectacular and the breakfast buffet, my goodness, amazing. Help yourself to espresso coffee, croissants, egg station etc. Great. And all 3 minutes walk to Kata tbeach.

All was good, though the top floors are WAY up the hill. Beds were okay and it was relatively quiet. There was one beach shuttle snafu.

The ocean view room @ the top of the hill was good,very hilly even to get to lobby for shuttle,the restaurant stated 6 pm went in @ 6.20 pm no one there.One room service meal was delivered cold & slopped all over plate Wife was not impressed.Would recommend pool view room that also has ocean view these are the standard room but a lot less steps.The staff were excellant WIFI @ the top was very intermitant evan after we were given VIPGUESTACCESS.We have stayed @ several resorts in Kata & would probably choose another resort less hilly next time.

We booked a sea view rom but we saw the room it was partial sea view ( rom Number 100’s) . They moved us to another rom NeXT say ( 600’s) . It would hAve been much better if they gave us the correct room at our arrival.

Nice hotel with lovely staff. Our room was in need of some minor maintenance but nothing worth a room change.Its noisy if your room is by the road but those inside are much quieter. Not much assistance in trying to get a late checkout if that is important to you. Be aware that there is lots of stair climbing at this resort.Otherwise a lovely stay.

Short break in Kata
Be prepared... lots of steps up to rooms. Good if you want to stay fit and work off a few calories. General hotel is good. A lot of rooms on different levels. Lots of places to eat near by but the nearer you get to Karon the better the choice and the lower the cost.

Can not think of a single good thing to say about this experience. Staff was horrible. Room was not what we reserved. Internet was not available in room. Location not as described. Would strongly suggest to stay away from this dismal place.

It was not clear to me that we would have to climb hundreds of steps to get to our room. The ocean view is not directly visible from the room. Beds were crazy hard. Room was clean and lovely, and staff were helpful and friendly.

All food and drink orders are exclusive. Add 10 to 15% to price. Also happy hour on beer. But have no beer to sell? Staff very nice.

Hotel constructed on slopes of hill. From street level climb stairs up to lobby then climb up to room. Not suitable for elderly, handicap and families with infants. Kata beach 5 minutes walk from street level. Have 3 times a day one way shuttle to beach. Breakfast OK.

Nice views of Kata beach
Stayed for 11 nights . Very clean and conveniently located with restaurants and shops on the doorstop. 5 minute walk to Kata beach. Breakfast very good with plenty of choice . Nice pool area and always plenty of sun beds. Overall very enjoyable stay

Good view of Kata Beach
Overall good stay. Loved pool and pool bar. Room with balcony and great view of Kata Beach. Good breakfast selection. Waiter/chef had bit of a mix up and starter offered after main was served in restaurant. So gave restaurant a miss after that, but food was ok. I think they had an off night as other guests seemed to have issues also. Walk to Kata Beach a bit tricky due to shortage of pavement and traffic, but shuttle service provided.

Fab hotel!!
What a wonderful stay!! The hotel was immaculate,all the staff were immensely friendly and helpful. We had a room with stunning views that was reached by quite a few stairs so probably wouldn’t be suitable for anyone with any mobility problems. Great selection for breakfast, and a good pool and restaurant menu. Would stay again and again.

Great location but hotel needs renovation
Great location and overall decent hotel. The ocean view was very very nice. However the overall condition of the hotel is not great - it is pretty old and some renovation is needed. Also the balcony has a great view but no privacy - you can basically your beigjbkrs if they are on their balcony too. Staff was nice. Breakfast was not good but not awful.

Great place to stay.
Great location. Close to action but far enough away that it is quiet. Fantastic beach and restaurants nearby. Clean, spacious rooms. Great staff.

Great Hotel!
Great hotel, even better than our next stay which were supposed to have one more star. The pool is big and really good and the view from the room (Delux) was amazing!

Check in was low class and roughly handled with the front desk girl disappearing during our signing in process, because another guest pushed in next to us. I demanded she stay to complete our signing in. Then we were allocated 2 rooms on the 3rd floor...the hotel has no lifts. You have to walk up and down many steep flights of stairs to get to and from your rooms. They don't say anything about that in their advertising. This alone would drastically affect our future bookings, notwithstanding the poor quality check in at the front desk. When we got to our room and turned on the air conditioner, there was a bad smell in the room for the whole time of our stay.

The room was fairly standard size wise. It was clean and bedding and towels were changed daily. Tea and coffee were provided. The room was supplied with a water heater which wasn't particularly efficient. It was difficult to know when, or even if, the water was boiling. A kettle would have been better. There were a couple of sockets but more would be better. The pool was lovely and towels were supplied for use there or on the beach. The breakfast buffet was satisfactory. There was plenty of fresh fruit,salads and breads and an egg station. Like many hotels much of the food was precooked and kept warm. The position of the hotel was good as it was close to shops and restaurants and the beach.

Nothing special about this hotel. It's inconvientely on top of a mountain just like everything else in the neighborhood. So lots of climbing stairs and inclines. There was no wifi connection in the room and the front desk wasn't in a hurry to do anything about it. They finally came to the conclusion that one of the hotspots were down and that it won't be up for a few days.. by that time I would be gone so it was a moot point. The air conditioner wasn't the best quality. Took a while to cool off the room. There is no safe in the room. They only give you one key to the room. I would recommend the hotel updating to a card key system. The pool was nice, good temp. Checking out was a bit of a hassle since they inspect your room as you are checking out. My brother got charged for a towel that was already ripped and shredding because they claimed he stained it and it won't wash out (it was dirty but nothing a little wash and bleach can't get out). Overall what can you expect from a 3 star hotel. Only stayed there for a few days and it sufficed but if I had to do it again I would pick another place.

Hotel was okay but the standard rooms are old and very noisy. Our friends stayed in upgraded rooms and then it's fantastic. A lot of stairs in the hotel though so be prepared for exercise....

We stayed for a week here. The location was good for us, walking distance to Kata and Kata Noi beaches. But this hotel didn't allow us to flush our toilet paper. This is gross, and not expected from a 3.5 star hotel. The A/C went out one night, so we slept in the heat. We realized at 11 pm, and didn't want to wait for someone to fix it (if they even could). We just wanted to sleep. We told them the next morning, and they fixed it. Two days later, we accidentally broke a coffee cup. We didn't think this would be an issue, since we slept in the heat one night. In my mind these are easily not the same thing, and the coffee cup a very minor inconvenience for them. They did nothing for us, except charge us for the coffee cup and the saucer. The young lady at the counter argued like a trained pro, saying these issues are not related. We were tired and had a plane to catch, so we went. I wrote them an email to give them a chance to make it right. They didn't respond so I wanted to let people know that we would rather stay somewhere else. Wifi only in public areas.

Nice service
Very rich breakfast, nice room with view although the hallway looks not as good. Pool is good as well. Overall I would recommend this hotel if you want to stay in Kata Beach. It is much nicer than dirty Patong. Hire scooter and ride the whole island and have fun!

Best of all Worlds
Our stay at this hotel was wonderful, and we couldn't have asked for more. My two boys, aged 3 and 9, loved the pool, and the staff, who treated them so kindly. Our room was very nice, with a fabulous view of the ocean. And the proximity to the beach, shops and restaurants was most helpful. The staff here are amazing, and went above and beyond to make sure we were always comfortable. Just wish we could've stayed longer. We'll be returning, that's for certain! Many thanks to everyone at the Orchidacea!

Very clean, beds are not as comfortable, pleasant staff and a 5 minute walk to the beach. Lots of stairs to climb to your rooms but they provide a ride to the top of the resort. Seems like an older place.

Great service, good sized rooms and great location. Only slight compliant is the accessibility as I had to walk up a lot of stairs. That said, the view from my room as a result was excellent

Can't recommend it.
We got a decent deal on our room, so I can't really complain that it was tiny and at the top of a mile of stairs, but the staff at the Orchidacea were utterly worthless. If you asked three people the same question, you'd get three different answers, none of them right. One example: when we asked the bellboy how long it would take to get to the tiger park, probably one of the most famous tourist attractions in Phuket, he told us there wasn't one. I don't think I saw a single member of the staff smile in the five days my girlfriend and I were there, which kinda went along with the clientele, who were some of the rudest people I've ever encountered.
