Nice hotel close to the beach

Posted 20-Feb-2017
The hotel is overall really nice. We were lucky to have a room with a balcony on the garden. The personel is really nice and friendly. The only thing is that you have to go up a steep hill. The beach is 5 min walking. The breakfast is also nice and diverse. Maybe it's just a little bit expensive but we don't have an experience with hotels price in the area.

the worst experiences of my life until now

Posted 12-Feb-2017
Pros: Location, close to kata beach
Cons: Attitude and English of the staff
Normally I don't write reviews because I've nothing special to say, but this time, I think it's important for people to know how this hotel is to avoid ruining the trip. 1. When I arrived in the room the first night there was no soap/shampoo/shower gel and I went to reception to ask for it. They told me that they'll bring to my room but they didn't do it so I had call again to get it. 2. I only used the shower but water leaked from the bath(shower and bath are separated). I requested to change room but they told me they needed to ask someone to check first. Before the engineer left, I checked, the water didn't go out when using the shower. Of course the problem reappeared after the engineer left. I didn't ask them to fix it again because I knew the problem would probably come back when the engineer left.- I had to live with a bathroom full of water on the floor for 6 days.... 3. The bottles of shampoo and shower gel were empty and I've put them in the floor so the staff wouldn't forget to replace them. When I came back, I found that they put the empty bottles back and didn't replace them...I had to show the empty bottle to the staff to get the new one... 4. the attitude of the staff at the reception Isn't friendly, especially a woman very impatient. 5.I've booked 6 nights and the keys deactivated twice. I stayed in many hotels in different countries and couldn't believe this hotel costs more than 200 euro per night.

Posted 10-Feb-2017
i must admit, when i saw it was a spa i was excited etc, pics looked great and then when i get there the spa is extra, like the sauna...i probably wouldnt have used it anyway due to the heat but when i book into a spa resort, i expect these facilities to be free, anyway, its a nice hotel...staff are nice, food at breakfast is good.. it was 100 a night, no big deal..view was ok

Oasis at top of hill near Kata Beach

Posted 04-Feb-2017
Pros: * attentive & hospitable staff * comfortable bed * never lacked hot water or pressure in shower * quality of bathroom toiletries * massage service
Cons: * torn lounge chair cushions should be replaced * better insulation on hotel room door to minimize hallway noise *more variety of fruit during bfst
We selected this hotel due to its convenient location - a short walk to Kata beach and relatively near Karon beach. We walked both beaches daily ( when not on excursions). There are also plenty of restaurants to choose from if you wish not to eat at the hotel. The lunch / dinner menus were good at the hotel, but more costly versus comparable food at the restaurants in town. My wife & I are good walkers and in good shape for our age. So the hill top location did not bother us. We never used the hotel provided shuttle service. The garden / pool area is well landscaped. It was designed over multiple levels providing relative privacy & serenity for relaxation. There are many flowers, trees, shrubs, etc... as well as water falls & jets. There are also several lounge chairs and umbrellas. Persons with limited mobility would not find the hotel location or the multilevel hotel courtyard suitable.

Pleasant stay in Phuket

Posted 01-Feb-2017
The resort was overbooked therefore, my friend and I was offered one night at the sister property in Patong Beach ( which by the way was a great option with an upgrade and we were transferred back to Kata the next day). Overall, the staff was pleasant. Decent room with a great view. Breakfast was ok. My favorite part of breakfast was the variety of fresh fruit juice. The bed isn't the softest.

OK hotel - but totally lacking in atmosphere.

Posted 06-Jan-2017
Pros: The rooms are very nice, modern & with good housekeeping service. Fairly close to beach & main street of Kata.
Cons: Pool area too small, not enough sun beds. Common areas too crowded & looking tired & in poor condition. Food poor. Reception staff not welcoming.
Location: Good for beach, Kata shopping & restaurants.
Hotel was completely lacking in character and was very crowded with tour groups. Bar & resstaurant have dreadfull atmosphere. Pool, terrace, common areas & ammenities are too small for the number of guests in the hotel and are old / in poor condition. i.e. broken & torn sun beds , poor library & games room. Daily battle to find a free sun bed. Restaurant very crowded at breakfast. Breakfast & food / beverage offer pretty poor. Staff not very helpful, particularly front desk. Concierge poor. Difficult to find help with bags, tours, information etc. I stay in Accor hotels a lot & this is not a particularly good one.

Stille og rolig, men likevel sentralt.

Store flotte rom som holdt en bra standard. Her hadde de også ordentlige tynne dyner og ikke bare laken. Hadde to flotte uker her, med flott service.

Great hotel

Posted 30-Nov-2016
3rd visit in 5 years and still love Avista, rooms clean and good facilities. Breakfast buffet always good, although the sweets selection is underwhelming (they look amazing but do not taste so). Staff are lovely but do feel they have lost some of the personal touches they used to have since changing to Novotel
