Disappointing experience, but comfortable room
The room itself was great. It was clean, the AC worked, there was a TV and everything in the bathroom functioned. It looked well-kept. However, the rest of the hotel experience was rotten.
They claimed we were "not on the list" when we got there, but somehow knew we had paid through Expedia and told us to call them and deal with it. I was told they just got a new computer system and a lot of the reservations were lost, so even though they were familiar with my name and the agency that booked me, and I had my itinerary, they were not going to honor my reservation or even TRY to accommodate me. Fortunately, my name "surprisingly" appeared on the list and we got our room.
All vending machines were out of order, the pool was green and abandoned, staff was scarce, ice room was all the way on the other side of the hotel. We had to have our keys reactivated at the front desk every time we got back to the hotel after going out. No TV channel list, WIFI password, phone number list or ANY information WHATSOEVER in the room. They charge for continental breakfast. A lot of the outside doors were left slightly open during the day - not very secure. Lobby bathrooms were out of the way and locked (which was unfortunate when my room key didn't work for the third time and I really had to go...). Overall feel of the hotel was dark, empty and running down. I was really surprised the room was good quality! Housekeeping did come by every morning and were very friendly. Location is mediocre.
