Hotel Experience

Posted 24-May-2017
We arrived, decided to go to dinner, came back to the hotel, no trash can, walked the trash to the lobby to throw away the trash. Bed was hard as rock. Wash rag was dirty. Bathtub had a hole in it that dirt came thru from the ground. No shower curtain, and not tub stopper, bathroom window was filthy. All tables werr stained with glass rings. Curtain and chairs in the room were old and falling apart. Large burn in carpet from a iron. Missing iron. Carpeting was filthy. Sink was old and damaged in many areas. Totally bad experience.

Good location but some flaws

Posted 14-May-2017
Here are the positive points: 1. The motel is close to the airport and a convenience store. 2. Room was clean and housekeeping staff did a good job. 3. Main room was fine in terms of decor. Separate bathroom could use some updating. Here are the negative points: 1. Wifi is unstable and was out for 12 hours during the middle of my one-week stay. Reliability was better toward the end of my time there. 2. You have no chance of operating the tv remote control with assistance. You must power the tv and wait until you get a picture. Then you must press the input button twice to get the cable channels. The front-desk person had no clue how to access the channels, but my sister had stayed here before and gave me the proper steps.

Convenient to airport

Posted 13-May-2017
Pros: Close to the airport
Cons: Complete renovation of the hotel.
I stayed here twice; once at the beginning of my trip and again at the end of my trip. Both times the staff was friendly and helpful and the shuttle to and from the airport was convenient. Unfortunately, the rooms are shabby and the carpets filthy. The first room had bed bugs and the second time, there was no electricity to the main lounge so there was no way to have breakfast with coffee and toast. The staff appeared to be new and did their best to make the customers comfortable but were clearly struggling.

Person sitting on the floor just outside my room door. TV did not work. Terminated my stay and will receive refund of deposit. Obviously, would not recommend this hotel.

Good Desk Staff, Poor Hotel Condition

Posted 11-Apr-2017
Pros: Generally good and friendly staff.
Cons: Update the rooms and clean them better.
Location: Close to the airport with free shuttle. You can walk across the street to a strip club, if that's your thing.
I had booked this hotel for 2 separate nights. We chose the hotel primarily because it is close to the airport and because it had a free shuttle. Note that there is a strip club immediately across the street from the hotel. The first night, the night staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was atrocious and the "mattress" was up on a platform and should have been burned 40 years ago. There were huge bubbles in the shower ceiling which had holes in them, holes in the bathroom ceiling with no fixtures, it looked dirty, old and generally made our stay uncomfortable. Days Inn clearly needs to visit its franchisees more often. However, we were only there for a few hours, and it was the cheapest, so we suffered. In the morning, we left early and there appeared to be 2 people on staff, but only one of them was actually working. We were not impressed. On the way back from Hawaii, again, the evening staff was very friendly. The second room was much better than the first, although again the cleaning was sketchy and the bed an atrocity. However, the TV gets a ton of channels and the pool was very clean (although I doubt anyone would use it in this neighborhood). The morning staff was very nice and helpful (and even helped me get a cab for an emergency) and there was coffee and a minimal amount of food available for breakfast. I would say avoid this hotel, as there are many others in the area which also provide free shuttles from the airport - its not worth the saving

Worked for me

Posted 07-Apr-2017
Cons: Better towels and new bed coverings
Location: N/a
Days Inn worked for me. My primary concern was proximity to airport with early morning shuttle. That need was met. Being w/out a vehicle, I was reluctant to walk to Outstanding lobster restaurant nearby after dark because the neighborhood looked a little sketchy. Overall this was a very good buy for the price.
