Located in Carefree, CIVANA Wellness Resort and Spa is in the entertainment district. Troon North Golf Club and Desert Forest Golf Club are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore Cave Creek Regional Park and Pinnacle Peak Park. Our guests love the resort's quiet location.
Our check in process very easy and quick. We were given hot towels to wash our hands and a shot of some healthy juice. David from concierge desk unloaded our bags and gave us tour of property. It seems to be an older property but well maintained. There is a pretty rose garden area as well as a cactus garden walking area. The fitness center was w Our room was average size with modern platform bed, minimalistic decor. Bathroom was large, walk in open shower. Toilet was in it own closeted area. It was clean and well kept with keurig coffee maker. Refrigerator tucked away in one of the closets. We always had plenty of hot water and fair to good shower pressure. The only con to the room was the soft bed. We ate breakfast at the resort a few times. Breakfast at the resort was good. We did not ever have lunch and twice had dinner with that being fair. The food in the surrounding area was very good so resort dinner was disappointing. The staff were all very friendly. David works his tail off and was always so helpful and friendly. While in the area we ate at Harolds Corral(very good), CCBC(poor experience), El Encanto (good), Big Earls(okay for greasy eats), Indian Village(yummy-whole in the wall), and Giordano Trattoria Romana (very very good). We hiked the Spur Creek Conservation trails. We drove the APache Trail. We day tripped into Sedona and hiked the Devil’s Bridge. We also drove into nearby downtown Scottsdale to a couple museums on advice from staff at Civana.
