Courteous Staff. Room was clean. Comfortable bed. Complimentary Breakfast. Highly Recommended by me for others looking for a comfortable, reasonably priced hotel in Phoenix/Mesa

Good location, needs better housekeeping staff

Posted 15-Oct-2016
Pros: Great coffee!
Cons: Housekeeping services could be better (see review above).
I stayed here for 2 weeks so I got a good feeling for the overall pros and cons of Best Western Plus Mesa. The pros include a good location, convenient restaurant next door, friendly staff, comfortable room, and great coffee. There is also a pool if that appeals to you and a guest laundry. If you like scrambled eggs and grits, the breakfast is fine (seasoned potatoes only on Sundays). The cons include housekeeping services that were a wee bit below standard. Some days, everything was taken care of, but other days, maybe half (e.g., the bed was made but no fresh towels were supplied). One day, there was no housekeeping visit at all. The last few days I was there, they also pumped in some apple-cidery scent that permeated the entire public space. There are a couple of computers available for guest use, but the attached printer did not work. Overall, a decent place.

The staff was friendly and efficient, the room was quiet, clean and no odors like some dog friendly rooms. Nice stay

Black mold; insufficient staff; problem lights

Posted 13-Sep-2016
Pros: The friendly night clerk did the best she could, being the only person there at night.
Cons: Housekeeping. Staffing at night.
Discovered black mold/terrible odor in bathroom after unpacking in room; had to move all my heavy luggage by myself to a 2nd room; after settling in and turning out the lights, discovered that the ceiling light fixture would not stay off - flickered on every 3 seconds; Management refused to make any price adjustment in the morning because I had purchased my ticket through Expedia.

Nice and quiet hotel

We had an issue at home that we couldn't stay there. We never stayed at the Best Western Plus being a resident here. With all the stress of our situation, we were in a quiet room which was very comforting.

The staff at the front desk were pleasant and friendly. The room was good, except for the ice in the refrigerator. The breakfast was ok, but the food wasn't kept warm enough. We checked in on a Saturday. By Monday night our room had not been cleaned at all. I went to the front desk and asked for towels and asked that at least to have the trash emptied the next day. Tuesday and Wednesday the room was cleaned. Wednesday the air conditioner was left at 56 degrees by the cleaning staff. It was freezing when we returned to our room that night. We had left the air conditioning at 70 degrees. We had long work days and didn't need the extra frustration of room issues.
