Got a free upgrade when i arrived, good and smooth check-in, room was spacious and comfortable, good and convenient location of the hotel. Breakfast was in a great and spacious room, with open roof, but choice and quality of food were a bit disappointing, pre-prepared tea in a coffee can with coffee taste, extremely sweet orange juice (and not fresh) and fruit was a bit off. Otherwise, i had a pleasant short stay.

Hotel is dated and borderline clean. It must have been a grand place in its days but could use some renovation (e.g. rusty fixtures in bathroom). The staff was not friendly and charged us a full extra night for late check-in after 6 PM even though the hotel was not fully booked. On the positive side, the location is good and breakfast is nice.

We had rented the Romyool suite, and while very large the facility is quite dated. Additionally, in the middle of the first night there was a water leak from the ceiling requiring housekeeping to come and clean-up the water. While not directly the hotels fault it speaks to the condition of the facilities.

Good hotel.
Good hotel, Big rooms. Liitle low cealing in shower for 195cm tall guy. 5-10 min walk to riverside. Town is dirty, not fault of hotel. Naigbouthood not so good.

Le Grand Palais
I loved this hotel! The building is so beautiful and the staff are great, really welcoming and helpful. The Sky Bar is amazing, beautiful views, decent food and mellow live music. Our room was big, with good AC and a comfy bed. A very charming courtyard for breakfast and a good selection of food. I would 100% recommend this hotel.

Good location but needs to be updated
The hotel is very old and charming. Good location close to the central market and the water front. Many restaurants close by. The hotel rooms could use an update maybe some fresh paint and wall decorations. Bedsheets were a bit worn will some holes and bath towels were well worn. Pool area was nice and skybar food and cocktails excellent. Breakfast could have been better.

A thoroughly enjoyable experience. Will definitely stay their again on my next holiday. My only complaint, around the swimming pool, the wood needs to be secured in the areas where it has become loose.

Beautiful but food could be better.
A unique hotel experience. The hotel is very decorative and ornate, including communal areas and the room, but some element of style over substance. The room was fabulously quirky though with novelty phone. We found the angel Skybar ok but staff were fairly inattentive so needed to call for attention a few times, off season and only people there and they ran out of Angkor (local) beer on draught. The food was mediocre. We ate in the restaurant, sky bar and had room service and weren't impressed. Uninspiring. The key strength of this hotel is the front desk staff, who were delightful. Very welcoming and helped with queries about tours. They happily printed our visa documents for us as we were leaving for Vietnam. Thank you.

Charming hotel in a good location.
Charming hotel in a good location and the service was good. The value for money was excellent! My only minor complaints are that the door locks use old fashioned keys (not cards) and the pool is a bit small. At this price these points can be overlooked. The breakfast was decent as well :-)

THERE WAS A RAT IN OUR ROOM!!! From the name we were expecting posh, however this is not the case. The rooms are dingy, cold and not warming, almost too big and rustic to feel comfortable. A rat ran from one curtain and under a hole in the other wall across the room, we grabbed our stuff and legged it and they immediately upgraded us to the suite and apologised, however the damage was done. The staff were amazing and so friendly and helpful, pool was lovely and the breakfast was beautiful. Just poor room condition which is clearly shown by its main inhabitant. Won’t return sadly.

Very ornate, old French hotel in Phnom Penh. Loved the breakfast room with it's opening roof! Breakfast itself was average at best. Good position. Walkable to both the riverside and Central markets.

The walls were oppressive. From floor to one meter high, were 3-D weirdly designed reliefs that made, especially in the narrow hallways, the walls seem to loom ominously. It’s a shame that someone, probably long ago, made a very wrong decor suggestion marring an otherwise dated but serviceable facility.

Pretty good overall
Photo of lobby misleading but the restaurant made up for that--gorgeous old French theater. Rest of the hotel was attractively unique and an easy walk to Central Market. Riverwalk about 6 blocks away. Dinner was well prepared but you must show coupon then, not when you pay. AC a bit inadequate. Staff wonderful.

It's not Grand and it's not a Palace.
It's not Grand and it's not a Palace. Moldy bathroom. The 'Superior Room' was not superior though the front desk tried hard to convince us. Hot and humid in the hallways. The pool was shutdown. Booked two nights and left after one. There's a lot better for the same price in Phnom Penh.

Very small room not worth the price
Very small room, window looking at another wall, very dark lighting, breakfast was adequate not good. Overall, we think you can find better and room for the price we paid. On the plus side, it is very close to the central market with plenty of shopping and food, including various street foods.

I only spent one night here before travelling elsewhere in Cambodia. Hotel is in a convenient location, close to the Central Market and Sorya Bus station. Room was clean and staff were friendly. I ate dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and the food was good, but maybe a little more expensive than other places. Would stay here again when in Phnom Penh.

A classic and cosy hotel in good location
The location is good and near the Central Market and a small temple. The hotel has nice structures and design, but some furniture at the lobby need to be upgraded. Certain areas need repainting too, especially the rooftop and entrance of the hotel.

Peaceful Comfortable Stay
Very good room, good lookout, complete privacy, staffs were helpful, arranged veg fried rice for us for breakfast which was a good gesture. Timely cleaning of room should be arranged. Airconn is also very old and need replacement.

A good hotel for Muslim visiting Phnom Penh
Very clean old style hotel . Friendly n helpful staff. Very convenient for muslims with halal breakfast served. Very good location for shoppers. Good value for money

Good place to stay
Located between central market and river with a comfortable walking distance to either. Attractive old colonial style building. Large rooms. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is reasonable with good choice. Roof bar is a nice place to chill out and cool down after a days sightseeing and they have 50% off until 7pm
