Very Clean...Hotel staff was constantly cleaning the hotel area and beach area. All of the staff were friendly and accomodating. Hotel could use some updating. Breakfast & lunch options were great and food was good. Dinner was hit or miss.
we enjoyed the all inclusive plan- what a great program. The hotel even checked us in early around 11:00, when check-in was 4:00 pm. They even changed our room to a no stairs option, because I'm blind and they didn't have elevators. Staff was very friendly and very helpful. The sand on the beach wasn't white and pretty, but black and volcanic in nature. A slight disappointment. Always something going on.
"Pleasantly surprised. Lovely hotel on the beach. "
For the price we paid I wasn't expecting a palace but the sea view hotel was beautiful! Obviously quite recently renovated. Nice, extremely clean & spacious room with a sea view. The only downside (and the reason I gave 4/5 for comfort) was our squeaky bed! We never complained about this but I'm sure that if we had it would have been resolved quickly. The staff were extremely friendly, always asking about our day and sharing tips on where to go. A nice little courtyard by the beach with sun loungers - not great if you want sun all day long but it's a dream when there's a lot of cruise ships in and you just want to relax for a few hours and escape the busy beach. (Also when you've checked out on your last day & need a nap due to a raging hangover! Haha) I honestly could not have been happier with the hotel, i will definitely return to the sea view beach hotel!! :)

I had a room facing street .. quite quiet , large room , good shower, safe, coffee machine, airconditioning worked well, usa sockets, wifi adequate, reasonable breakfast with lots of fruit and juices etc, front door opens onto front street with lots of shops largely aimed at cruise ship passengers
The hotel is older, but if you like to relax it's the place to be. They have some activities planned if you want to partake or you can go on your own. The activities director has a list of the recommended places to fulfill your wishes. There are boat trips, plane trips, shopping trips and trips to other islands. We enjoyed a trip to Pinel Island for the day, shopping in Phillipsburg, renting a car makes getting around easy (but the drivers and parking are crazy). The French side of island is also to be enjoyed (just have to remember that some of the shops there close at 2:00 and open again about 4:00). The food is great allover the island.

Good breakfast on the house. Staff very good. The guest seams happy. Safety deposit box in your room .rooms clean daily. Bakery down stairs where you can eat, have breakfast and shop. It's more of a Motel accommodation. The location is more of a commercial location .you have to walk up two sets of stairs before you get to your hotel /room. I had no problems staying. There.

The capital of Dutch St. Maarten, Philipsburg is a bustling city with shops, restaurants, nightlife, and hotels. A popular tourist attraction is Fort Amsterdam, a 17th century Dutch military outpost. Though all military communications ceased in the 19th century, it was used as a signaling and communications station until sometime in the 1950s.
