My husband and I are relocating to Philadelphia and booked this hotel for three nights. The first night, the carbon monoxide detector in our room started making a high pitched beeping every couple of minutes. I called the front desk and the clerk came to look at it. He said that it was the battery. After some time, he determined he was unable to fix it and would switch us to a different room. It was late and we didn't want to move all of our luggage, so I said that we would try to live with it until the next morning when Maintenance could repair it.
My husband has hearing aids that he could remove, so he was able to sleep. After two hours, though, I was unable to fall asleep. I went to the desk and asked the same clerk if he could give me another room to sleep in until 7am the next morning, at which point I would wake my husband and move our luggage. He refused because that would be, "as if we got two rooms for the price of one." I explained that I didn't want to wake my husband in the middle of the night and the net result to the hotel was the same. I also expressed my disappointment, as this was a maintenance issue with the hotel. The clerk would not budget and refused to provide me with any type of customer service number for Rodeway.
I ended up waking my husband and moving because I had to be able to get at least a few hours sleep before an interview I had scheduled early in the morning. I've have stayed in this hotel in the past and am reluctant to do so again.
