Practical room great location

The hotel is close to a lot of city attractions so you don’t have to travel to far . If your planning on parking in the lot , it’s 17 dollars for 24 hours but you have to pay the 17 each time you take your car out of the lot . So unless you plan to use cabs the whole time , it’s a hassle . The ice machine wasn’t working They didn’t provide us with soap and tooth brushes even though we called down and asked for some .

Very dissapointing

There was not heat in our room, even though philadelphia is a cold city. The halls and the elevator are very narrow and I couldnt enter with a stroller to the elevator. In addition, we ask to pay in cash, the manager sad "no problem, you can do it tomorrow", the next day, the same manager said he cant do it, without check or apologize. And in the end the they charge the both of our rooms with the same credit card we fill during booking. And not with the 2 credit card we ask and gave them in check in, after they insist they must see the credit card in order to bill them. More over, our 2 room were in 2 diffrent floors although we order in advance. We feel that beside its location, the hotel dont have anything speciel to offer, and the price really too expensive compare to the staff you get.

Extremely Comfortable

Pros: The sale offered on Expedia made the hotel a great option.
Cons: The parking was a challenge as well as the one way streets in the city.
Location: Business, shopping, universities
The hotel was very nice with a comfortable bed, friendly staff, and a nice downtown location.

Room was small but functional. Kept tripping over the part step into the bathroom. The room was also quite hot with no thermostat.

No Bathroom Door & Terrible Customer Service

A coworker and I stayed at the Roadway Inn Center City for 2 nights while traveling to Philadelphia for a conference. Immediately upon check-in and entering our room, we noticed that there was no bathroom door. The sink was in an open area as is standard as some hotels, but there was no door or screen surrounding the toilet. The glass encased shower was also perfectly visible from just about anywhere in the room, including the bed.We immediately asked the front desk to switch rooms because, as stated on our reservation, there were two of us in the room and we needed privacy. We were told that it would be an additional $258 a night to be moved to another room with a door. The manager was unwilling to accommodate us in any other way. We followed up with the hotel on Monday following our visit and received the most atrocious customer service. The gentlemen who checked us in claimed to have no memory of our conversation about switching to another room. He said that the room our room was intended for one resident, but the room next door had a sliding door on the toilet. When asked why we were not assigned to the room next door when the reservation stated there were two of us, we were told he did not make room assignments and didn't know who did. He claimed it was normal to not have a bathroom door, became confrontational and explicitly told us we were "crazy" for asking for compensation. He was unwilling to give us the name of another manager or regional contact information.

Terribly disappointing stay in Philadelphia.

Pros: Great shower. Also, there was a wonderful front desk attendant named Calvin. Super friendly! The one bright spot in the vacation.
Cons: Improve the hotel's customer relations. Either better training or better selection of personnel.
It began with a call to the hotel to confirm the reservation. I spoke with the rudest individual I have ever encountered. When I asked a question he was condescending and belligerent. My wife made a follow up call and spoke to the same person and he was just as obnoxious with her. The hotel also had no individual thermostats. Changing the temperature for one room changes the temperature for the whole floor. When we arrived the room was so hot. We asked to make it cooler but they said they couldn't. We had to sleep with the window open which increased the noise factor and ultimately made the room freezing. It was either hot or super cold, no in between. On our departure, we were meeting our daughter for breakfast at 10:00 am. We spoke to the house keeper about checking out or waiting until we came back from breakfast. She said not to worry and wait until we were finished with our meal. We got back to our room at 11:00 and the front desk called and told us to leave our room immediately. We rushed to pack and were finally out in 15 minutes. The front desk called in the interim to tell us to vacate immediately despite the fact that house keeping was OK to get the room ready and no one was waiting for the room. I believe the front desk attendant was named Gary who sounded like the person my wife and I spoke with initially. If it wasn't the same, then the hotel hired two equally obnoxious people.

Good location and perfectly fine stay

There's nothing I would call luxurious about this place, but I really liked the location and the microwave/refrigerator. They had a nice Keurig coffee machine and lots of nearby grocery options (including a decent Target), so I was able to do breakfast on the cheap and save my budget for dinner. Lots of things within walking distance (Convention Center and Reading Terminal market were two places I walked nearly every day). I did really love that although it means a tiny elevator and very tiny staircase, this is an old building and you can just imagine the things that have taken place in the hotel over the years. I thought for the price it was a decent place to stay. I also hunkered down for two days during a nor'easter, and it was great to have my coffee, newspaper, food and TV in a warm room. I was surprised my room at the Rodeway was actually larger than my colleague's room a the Aloft.
