Have stayed at The Roadway Inn Center City Philly a few times. Hotel is definitely dated and the smells throughout say so. Nothing is bad or dirty. I have only stayed in single bed rooms and they have always been very accommodating. Bathrooms have been renovated and are clean and nice. I have stayed in three different rooms and all have been clean and roomy. Check in has been smooth and easy every time. Just a note on one room I booked and wasn't made aware of, the bathroom was out in the hallway and there were a few of these rooms one on each floor I believe. When I questioned this I was told that I would have never gotten the price I received ($99.00) for a regular room but have since booked 2 "regular"rooms at different times for $89.00 a night. I was there for one night so I didn't make a big deal about it but if you have to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night it may be a problem for you. For the price you cannot beat this hotel. You are in PRIME CENTER CITY location and for the amount of time you tend to stay in your room it is GREAT! Rooms, Bathrooms, Beds are all real good 3 out of 5 stars in my opinion. Shopping, Nightlife and Culinary wise second to none. As a Chef I have never been anywhere in this area that has disappointed me and selection and varied cuisines are in abundance. You can do high or low priced dining and still get excellent food and service.
