I couldn't recommend, but it's OK for some
The good: Breakfast was OK. The pool areas were great. Gym was good (for a hotel gym). Bed was comfortable, room was clean and pillows were OK. Rooms were cleaned and serviced everyday. The hotel had free parking and every shop/resteraunt you could ever need including the beach is a 5 mintue walk. The Bad: Gym had no air conditioning. WiFi was unreliable. After my third attempt to make a bank transfer I had to go to a nearby cafe and use their WiFi. The Air Conditioner wasn't fantastic, it was good enough to get to sleep but the room was never comfortable. The showers hot water runs hot/cold which makes for a very unhappy shower. The toilets are western, but you can't flush toilet paper down, have to use a nearby bin. The photos of the rooms "conveniently" omit the sign advising the toilet style. The Worst: Each night, around 10pm and lasting to anywhere from 10:30pm to Midnight, the nearby bar starts the live music which for any light to medium sleepers would keep you awake. Our room had ZERO noise insulation. The hotel outright stole from us at the bar. She paid in cash, however the hotel then tried to charge us on checkout for the drinks. They let us go, telling us everything was OK and we wouldn't be charged. A day later we noticed my credit card had being charged for the amount of the drinks. This is straight up, no way to avoid it, stealing and theft by the hotel. I never authorised the credit card transaction.

4th visit and we'll be back
This was our 4th visit to the waters and god willing we will be going back. We can't fault anything. Its not beach front but only a short walk and with the amount of pool area it no problem. The location is great due to the amout of small restaurants and bars nearby. We always feel a bit guilty for not making use of the hotel dining room in the evenings but we like to eat out in the previously mentioned local places.

Beautiful resort-our room was modern & sparkling clean. Loved relaxing on our private balcony and the steps led straight down into the pool, which was great. The included buffet breakfast was delicious. I especially liked the resort’s efforts towards sustainability.

Our room 212 looked out to a wall & a yard where staff collected their supplies for the day. We were only stopping for 1 week, so wasn’t too bothered. Beach was 10 minutes away and no facilities, which was a bit disappointing. Staff were outstanding, friendly and very helpful.

Spacious hotel close to beach and eateries
Very helpful and friendly staff. We received upgrade to pool access upon check-in. Room is spacious and while designed. It’s better priced and just few steps from beach front resorts that cost quite a bit more.

Perfect location for your holidays
We only staid 2 nights, but we wish we could have been there longer. Friendly service and a great location with pool for everybody. The beach is also nearby. Perfect place for a great holiday :)

Pros: Staff are great, really friendly and nothing is too much trouble Breakfast is well organised and plenty of choice Location - close to the beach and the hotel also offer a shuttle service to a bigger beach which is more comfortable Cons Rooms are tired and need a lick of paint Usual story of people reserving sun loungers and then going the beach or on a day trip for most of the day Pool area needs a bit of a facelift Ants and mosquitoes in the room (this was sorted once I mentioned it Not all pool access rooms get any sun therefore kind of pointless really. Overall we had a pleasant stay with no real grumbles. Would we return? Mmm I think there are far nicer hotels for a similar price so whilst we would certainly return to Khao Lak I think we wouldn’t be in a hurry to return to the Waters (unless the price was right)

Lovely hotel near beach and great restaurants
Lovely hotel in a great location, only criticism is it could do with a bit of touching up in places, general decoration needed around the resort and some new sunbeds around the pool as many were broken. Had a pool room which was great but stay away from the Bay rooms as they look out on concrete. Very pleasant stay with excellent service and staff were very helpful.

Great hotel with good service.
We had 10 days in a pool access downstairs room the room was a very good size but lacked a comfortable seating area.The breakfast was very good and plentyful we ate in the resaurant a couple of times and it was good and the prices were ok there are plenty of restaurants and bars around at a very good price We were there at the start of the wet season so most of the attractions were closing for the season if its quiet you want it is ideal then.

The pool access room was fantastic. Having lots of pools meant that it never felt crowded when having a swim. Good location to night markets, bars and restaurants. Lovely staff.

I loved the many pools. I was staying in the Bay wing and connectivity was quite poor. I had to keep going to the living room to download e-mails, make bookings. I was his that was the only flaw in what could otherwise have been a perfect expereience.

This is one of those resorts where the pictures paint a very different picture than the reality, which was rather grim. It feels very much like a resort from the 80s and pools are set between gravel concrete slabs. My room was a pool access room but actually was not private at all since the room above also has access to the pool entrance right by your terrace, so be prepared for zero privacy on your balcony and the pool in front of it. The room needed paint in various places on the wall and had an old fake leather couch in it. The shower was massive but had a tiny little head that would no longer stay in place and sprayed to the side. Hotel completely overcharged on the taxi from the airport - do not use them. More than double the actual rate! Drinks at the bar were extremely expensive - 400 Baht for a double gin and tonic. The spa was the stuff of nightmares! Looks more like a repurposed hall. Old brown, cracked leather couches and dark dingy rooms. Massage therapist was winging it and was clearly untrained and inexperienced. Prices about 6 times more than outside. Located in the middle of nowhere in an unsavoury area. AVOID.

I loved the hotel, it was every thing I imagined from the pictures. We stayed in a pool access room, which was amazing. Very clean, fresh and who doesn’t want to walk straight out of their room into your own pool/lounge area. Very quiet place mainly couples enjoying a relaxing time away. Plenty to do around hotel, lots of restaurants, shops and a beach. Would highly recommend and stay again.

This resort is superb. Although the New Year gala buffet needs major improvement and better management, this resort is excellent and exemplary. The staff are a credit to the Resort, they are without exception unfailingly polite and friendly. Everything about this resort is exemplary from the amenities, the clean tidy and modern comfortable rooms, the attractive and delicious breakfast buffet, and the appealing and inviting pool layout through the resort. It is very close to a gorgeous golden sand turquoise waters beach and the town with a variety of quality eateries. Any negative comments here are entirely inaccurate and unfair. This resort is quality and the guest experience superior. I wholeheartedly endorse The Waters.

Fabulous!
This is one of the nicest resorts I have stayed in! My husband & I spent 6 nights in a waters pool room, with direct access to a massive pool. The room was exactly as depicted in the images, as was the rest of the resort. The staff are friendly, polite and professional. The location is close to a good range of terrific bars & restaurants, as well a just a short walk to the beach and markets. Breakfast in the resort restaurant was excellent. If you're visiting Khao Lak, definitely consider this resort - you won't be disappointed. I can't wait to return!!

Our stay was fantastic. This is our second visit and will not be our last. From the moment we arrived we felt at home with very friendly staff where nothing was too much trouble The resort is well maintained and we wanted for nothing. Pool access room was brilliant, the service fantastic and exceptionally well priced. Great location with plenty of restaurants and shopping We have been traveling to Thailand for 10 years and The Waters has become our favorite destination

Recommended, but not for young families.
Enjoyable stay in a very comfortable resort. We made use of a couple of the seven pools and the fact that the pools and rooms were so spread out gave an air of spaciousness and relaxation. It was predominantly adults there and it's OK for older kids like ours but I wouldn't recommend the Waters to young families; there are literally no kids' facilities. The location was fine, a few minutes to the beach and Bang Niang Market.plenty of restaurants and bars and an oversupply of massage facilities could also be found very close by. We were upgraded to an upper pool room with a very pleasant balcony. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom, despite not having a bathtub, to my daughter's disappointment, was spacious. At low season prices the resort was good value. I've stayed in Khao Lak several times and this was the best place I've stayed in. I'd have liked the breakfast menu to change a little more but if that's my only complaint then the place definitely warrants a top rating from me.

Nice hotel close to local restaurants, fairly quiet in August. Friendly and helpful staff. Weather not great but Tony the barman makes a great mojito. Would definitely consider this hotel id I return to Khao Lak.

Perfect stay
It was perfect! People are nice and swimming pools are awesome. There is a market near hotel, where sells the best Padthai ever. I would definitely visit there again!

Would gladly return to stay here. We had a pool access room which was just wonderful in a very quiet corner of the resort which was a bonus. Breakfast - great choices. Pools great Staff friendly and very helpful.
