Church Cottage

3.5-star Cottage with kitchen and balcony or patio
Church Cottage is nestled next to the village church with views of the surrounding South Downs countryside. This is a character cottage with gorgeous wooden flooring and beams throughout the ground floor. The living area is a warm and welcoming space with cosy decoration and traditional furnishings and there is an inglenook fireplace at the heart of the lounge with a woodburning stove and several reading areas. The country kitchen is perfect for an evening gathering or to rustle up a hearty breakfast before exploring the local area. There is a convenient cloakroom on the ground floor. On the first floor there are three double bedrooms all with delightful views of the surrounding area. The family bathroom has a full bath and a telephone shower attachment and there is a separate WC next to this. Please note that this property is only suitable for a maximum of four adults. You can access the charming cottage garden through the patio doors in the lounge. This established space is a lovely place to enjoy your morning coffee or even an evening glass of wine! In the evenings, the rural setting offers for beautiful nighttime skies with spectacular stars to be seen. There is off street parking available for two cars. A charge of £25.00 per stay or per week, whichever is shorter, will be made for each dog (guide dogs for the blind and registered assistance dogs excepted). Please let us know if you will be bringing a dog with you. This property will accept a maximum of two dogs. Graffham and beyond Church Cottage is set in a stunning location with elevated views of the surrounding South Downs countryside and picturesque walks from the door to the hills beyond. Although set in a wonderfully rural location it is within walking distance of both a local shop and pub. It is only a short walk to join the South Downs Way, with several footpaths leading up to this national trail. The cottage is less than four miles from the historic town of Petworth with a wide variety of antique shops and tea rooms along with Petworth House and deer park. The house contains the largest display of Turner paintings outside of London while the park is the design of Capability Brown. Both are owned and maintained by The National Trust. Petworth itself was immortalised in his paintings. Petworth itself is full of quaint houses and cottages, many within their own courtyard settings. They are interspersed with antique shops and tearooms so it makes the ideal place for a stroll following your enjoyment of Petworth House and Park. The vibrant city of Chichester is just nine miles from Church Cottage and is one of the great well-preserved Georgian cities in the UK providing a key role in Sussex affairs since Roman times. The streets are packed with listed buildings including the imposing cathedral which has been a part of Chichester history for almost 1000 years. The city centre is enclosed within the ancient city walls which is ideal for exploring by foot. With its plethora of attractions, shops and restaurants, Chichester is a cosmopolitan city with a vibrant and friendly vibe and is, of course, home to a dynamic arts scene offering many galleries and museums to peruse. It is also home to the famous Festival Theatre. which is renowned for its quality of productions as well as featuring many world premieres.
