It is an ideal distance from both cities and nestled just outside of Puerto Morelos, which is a hidden gem for people that love good food and a chill vibe. I strongly recommend Sota Human Space. The accommodations are the best I've ever stayed at."

"Beautiful, clean, fresh Riviera Maya property. Great ocean views, although little if any beach to enjoy and except for a handful of unpromoted kayaks, no watersports. If you are visiting Cancun for warm weather and great hospitality this is your spot. If you are looking for authentic Mexican culture, a sprawling resort style pool, big palapa and some lively music this may not be your fit...this is Orlando south. "

"Pleasantly surprised. This looks like a small motel, but is an apartment complex that rents out a few units. The kitchen was well equipped and the bedroom a separate from the kitchen dining room. Just a few blocks from the beach… and a great beach club. For a low budget trip, this place was just great. The staff did not speak any english but google translate helped to facilitate good communication. "
