Convenience when arriving late

Posted 21-Apr-2016
Pros: The beds and pillows were amazing. Room was clean and not too small as can be the case in these hotels.
Cons: The shower screen leaking water.
Our family of four stayed here when flying in at night and I wanted somewhere with 24hr reception to make checking in easy for our tired brains! Everything went smoothly, valet parking expensive but handy. Beds and pillows SUPER comfortable - just what we needed. The two things we didn't like so much were - one, the shower - the glass door used as a shower screen is just not good enough. Water leaks through the gaps and at the bottom making for a very wet and slippery bathroom floor right at the base of the toilet where you are putting your feet - not nice. The water in the bath also backs up and doesn't drain away quickly - gross. Two - why do these restaurants feel like they can charge so much for a buffet breakfast? There is no way I can eat $38 worth of food for a cooked breakfast - value just isn't there. We did ask if kids were cheaper and yes they are half price but still that is way too much for children who want perhaps just one egg on toast or one bowl of cereal!

Good location close to waterfront

Posted 13-Apr-2016
Pros: Location was good. Food was good at breakfast Staff friendly
Cons: Hotel is in the process of refurbishing rooms, so far only top few floors have been done.
Location: Good location close to Swan River waterfront About a fifteen minute walk to ferry terminal and centre of city
Been to Pan Pacific in Singapore, this hotel was older and more dated. We complained about stained toilet and bath and were given a refurbished room which was much better. Breakfast was excellent. Good location, not far to walk to ferry terminal.

Lovely location

Posted 09-Apr-2016
Pros: Staff were really welcoming and helpful.
Cons: As above.
Location: Location was perfect, you could stroll along the foreshore, have a coffee, visit Elizabeth Quay, catch a ferry, or go to the night markets on Friday.
For us it was just a place to sleep. We didn't use the facilities or even dine there, so can't comment on those. We also discovered a very convenient little convenience store, across the road, as well as an Irish Pub, several cafe's close by and some small restaurants. We ate at a little Chinese place and the food was very enjoyable. The room was lovely though needs a little attention in the way of chipped bathroom tiles dirty outside windows and power point in bathroom not working. Even though the aircon worked well (a touch on the noisy side though) it could do with a ceiling fan to move air around. We upgraded to a higher floor to get a better view but the only problem was the window isn't long enough, so you had to literally stand at the window gazing out to see it. The sight was quite beautiful though.

Chosen for it's central position and 5 star rating

Posted 28-Mar-2016
Pros: Cleaning staff!
Cons: Windows made safe! Rooms completely renovated!
Location: Mint, Freemantle Prison, Roundhouse, Rottness Island, Get a car if possible, visit York and outlying beaches! Perth is very expensive try to eat out o
Chose this hotel in Perth for it's location and the fact it had a 5 star rating. Well, forget the 5 stars, lets keep it realistic and give the hotel 2 stars. There is splendor when you walk through the doors,it stops at the lifts, they are very old and creeky, very slow too! We were given room 1412, nothing like the photo's you may see when booking. Very dull and very old furniture,it's a joke to call this 5 star rating, the best rating is 2 stars, very, very disappointing. The most worrying fact in the room is that THE WINDOWS ARE BOLTED SHUT!!! What if there's a fire and the window is the only safe exit, imagine, fire on floor 14,firemen asking you to open window so they can rescue you, however, you can't there's a bolt through it! I did call in at a local fire station and asked their advise, quote "they didn't like the idea" This vacation was a treat for my partners birthday, she and i were very disappointed.I forgot to add, when i complained about the windows,i was told by the receptionist that a manager would speak to me about it, NOBODY BOTHERED! The hotel offered us absolutely nothing for the disappointment we had endured for the 15 nights we stayed there. In fact my partner did try to change our flights to come back home after the third day we were there! Travelers going to Perth be sure that you will be getting nothing like 5 star rooms on the 14th floor, however, you will be expected to pay 5 star prices throughout the rest of the hotel

Dear Tracy & Gordon, We regret that you were disappointed during your stay. Our Chief Concierge did relay your concern to us and the team after your conversation with him. As mentioned, as per WA's regulations, all windows without balconies should be locked at all times. More importantly, our hotel strictly adheres to health & safety policies and procedures and we do have designated fire exits at strategic locations should such incident occur. Additionally, associates are trained to deal with such incidences. We appreciate your concern and we apologise that the locked windows inconvenience you, however, the safety of our guests is always our utmost priority.
