One night stay

Posted 26-Jul-2015
Pros: Everything is fine - with the exception of the air conditioning issues.
Cons: Sort out the air conditioning!!!!
Location: My stay is usually around 12 hours so no time for anything else.
I choose to stay here because of the location, even when I check in late which I usually do, I can still find somewhere, to get something to eat. My biggest gripe is with the air conditioning, the units are placed so they blow down onto the bed rather than just cool/warm the room, the result is you sleep in a draft. This stay, it was very cold during the night (4 degrees according to the weather man) I turned on the air conditioning and all I could get was cold air, I tried the heat setting and the auto setting, which had previously been set to +30, but all I could get was cold air, so I turned it off and found some extra blankets in the cupboard. Other than that, my stay was fine, the staff are always friendly and help when they can.

Relatively inexpensive...

Posted 06-Jul-2015
Pros: Location, price
Cons: Needs a refresh, and the room I had should only be a single...
Which is probably why I chose it... Best thing about it was the Swedish-style smorgasbord breakfast; if you're on vacation eat up and skip lunch! Staff were great too. Room was disappointingly small and the hotel part felt a little 'tired': nothing unpleasant, but nothing special either.

Good Location and great breakfast. .

Posted 03-Jul-2015
Rooms are dated. Got woke up by next doors shower nice and early. It was like the pipes were run through our pillows. So loud I recorded it whilst talking' you could hardly hear me when it eventually stopped you could hear a pin drop. Great breakfast though.

Close to parking and City

Posted 30-Jun-2015
Pros: Definately the Restaurant. Fabulous food!
Cons: Noise reduction in the rooms including floorboards and ill fitting doors. Better tea and coffee.
Location: Location was perfect for shopping and shows. Taxi rank nearby.
Close to City, walking distance.Parking across the road so very convenient. Miss Maud's buffet best in the world!! Beautiful dinner although we tried to book a table through reception but they said only 1 table available at 7pm which was too late as our show started then..however we waited at the door when it opened at 5pm and were found a table by a lovely staff member. The room was not to my expectations as it was very narrow with two single beds...and felt very closed in as windows were very high ...I would not have this room again. Had the feeling of an old boarding house as had very creaky floors and ill fitting doors and I was woken many times by other guests returning in the late hours and early morning, definately not sound proof!! Other rooms may be better but twin share was not a great experience. Would definately return for the fabulous buffet for dinner and breakfast!

Overpriced for what you get

Posted 04-Jun-2015 on Hotels
Hotel is a bit dated and rooms are overpriced for what you get - but maybe that is just Perth pricing. Staff were very friendly and helpful. My room overlooked the back and there was a smell of cooking oil which kept wafting in if I left window open

Don't stay here!

Posted 01-Jun-2015
I finally got a good deal at Miss Maud with availability. This place is great. So stay away from it so I can continue to enjoy this place at a reasonable rate. Never could understand this rating thing. Do you tell everyone where your best fishing hole is?
