Excellent Customer Services Hotel

Posted 15-Jun-2017
Pros: The customer focus services.
Cons: Nothing in particular.
Location: It is a distant away from the main shopping district in Perth but compensate by the free red and yellow CAT buses within the vicinity.
My family experienced excellent services from the Concierge, Room Service and Restaurants during our three days of short stay. We will definitely book this hotel again if we visit Perth again.

Nice Room, Shame About the Place!

Posted 22-May-2017
Pros: The room, shower, bed very comfy. Joes Oriental Diner was excellent. We're pleased we chose a river view room.
Cons: May have been helpful to have two firm and two softer pillows.
Location: Walking distance (20 mins) to Perth Concert Hall.
We stayed for one night. The approach to the Hyatt hotel, via Terrace Road entrance is dismal to say the least. Although, I appreciate this area may not be under the control of the hotel itself. However, the central reception area also appeared poorly lit and quite chilly, adding to the uninspiring first impression. The room was well appointed, very clean and comfortable. Although we had no option but to listen to the reception area piano player's two and a half hour session during the afternoon, even through we were on the fifth floor. We were also woken at midnight by music and again at 1am by shouting and noise from guests at a function in one of the ballrooms on the ground floor. Someone even began playing the Chopsticks on the piano at this time. Just surprised that it was so noisy. I understand a refurbishment is imminent. Wait until it's done before you stay, it's currently underwhelming considering it's rating.

The Simple Things

Posted 13-May-2017
Pros: Breakfast buffet was good
Cons: 1 staff training on billing and Expedia; 2 attention to little things - toilet paper, towels and soaps; 3 general standards from 3 to 4+ stars
Location: Further away than the other hotels, but still central. More steps than I have ever seen in my life. Was on business - not much to do in WA otherwise.
It was OK for a 3 star hotel - but not a 5 star and not what it used to be. The simple things are missing: fluffy towels, something more than 1 ply toilet paper or tissues , soap and even brochures about Perth or the in house restaurant were absent. We did have some good staff, but it came with very odd issues around payment and how to use Expedia bookings - which we are still trying to deal with 5 days later. I would only stay here if necessary - it is clean, tidy and warm.

A Pleasant Hotel With Nice Facilities

Posted 10-May-2017
Pros: The food at the restaurant was reasonably priced for a 5 star facility with a good choice to choose from.
Cons: The suites were of a good size, but just looked very ordinary. The wood work look a bit cheap. Not what I expected for 5 star.
Upon arrival and check-in, the hotel did not have my reservation, which was booked through Expedia. Even though I had received confirmation from Expedia. The hotel advised that Expedia make the bookings direct and that they do not have any control over it. It was a bit frustrating, as I was trying to login to my emails at the reception area of the hotel to show the confirmation email received from Expedia. But everything turned out fine and the hotel check-in was pretty quick. The room I was given was a nice big room with king sized bed and a large flat screen television. The room was very clean, although the bathroom was looking a bit dated and could use a freshen up, especially as this is a 5 star hotel. The hotel lobby is very impressive, with the fountain and obelisk in the middle and bar at the rear and restaurant/café at the side. I used this area quite often for a quick coffee and a read of the daily paper. I dined at the hotel restaurant on one occasion and everything was excellent, couldn't fault anything. The Hyatt's location is at the beginning of Adelaide Terrace, so it was a bit far from most popular places. I was lucky that there were free bus services within the city area, which took you to most popular places with only minimal walking required with the bus stop almost right at the front. I would certainly stay here again.
