The Cold and Hungry Decaf Netcafe

Posted 11-May-2015 on Wotif
Wouldn't accept cash deposit. Had no credit nor could I use the hotel wifi to transfer money to my card. Waited 2 hours on a very uncomfortable couch in the lobby for a friend to come, I gave him the cash and he put the deposit on his card. It was Friday afternoon and the business travellers were sucked up to - I saw a lot of this because to sitting on an uncomfortable couch for 2 hours after a long flight. An American sounding staff member was especially rude to me. The card to open the room door almost never worked. Took a few minutes each time to open it. Only one coffee sachet amongst a handful of decaf. Batteries in air con went flat and was stuck on 18 and I woke up freezing cold and had to spend the morning without power because there was no manual override. The "queen" bed was 2 singles pushed together. There was no blanket, just a piece of fabric that felt like a doona cover except with no doona inside. Pillows were old, smelly and flat. There was NO room service offered at all on weekends and jusging by the limited options and time windows on the "menu" for weekdays they must assume that everyone loves burgers that cost $20. Internet was very confusing for the average person to connect to but the speed was not as slow as I was expecting. I really am not fussy when it comes to comfort but I've paid half the price for a country motel and had better staff and facilities.

Nice decor but probably wouldn't stay again

Posted 08-May-2015 on Hotels
Hotel is in the centre of the CBD and close to lots of amenities however the actual street it is on is a bit seedy (it is next door to an 'adult entertainment' store) and I was heckled a few times outside the hotel by drunk people hanging around outside the neighbouring 'adult' shop. Hotel room was spacious and nicely decorated. The bed was extremely uncomfortable though and I ended up having to have joint manipulation at the osteopath to correct the damage that 3 nights in that bed did.

Nice hotel close to the city

Posted 26-Apr-2015 on Wotif
Pros: Location
Cons: Furniture needs up dating, & thing need to be in better working condition
Location: Shopping
Always enjoy our stay but starting to show its age, some new more comfortable furniture would be good. We don't believe much has changed over the 7+ years that we have come to stay, but still a nice stay

Close to trainline and no quiet mode on aircon

Posted 22-Apr-2015 on Wotif
Pros: Location
Cons: Update aircon, sound proof windows.
Location: Great restaurants and shops. Easy access to public transport and walking around CBD.
Unable to use the aircon due to there being no quiet mode, too noisy on other modes. Noise from passing trains late at night and very early mornings.
