Considered the "last wild river" in Europe, this magnificent natural space classified & protected as a "Natura 2000 Zone" for the quality of its exceptional plant & animal biotope (fish, mammals, birds, insects, amphibians, etc.), is home to a axis of migration, reproduction and nesting for many species, some of which are very rare (Atlantic salmon, large shad, sea lamprey or eel; waders, kingfisher, bank swallow, European bee-eater, etc.).
