The maintenance and upkeep of this property has long been neglected. Little bit of investment from the owner would go a long way. I'm dripping taps keeping you awake to badly fitted rotten doors. There are lots of air fresheners plugged in to disguise the smells not just in the apartments but also common areas. Wheelie bins are overflowing and the apartment overlooking the pool is infested with flies. It is a real shame as this property has the potential to be be really nice. The Polish cleaner/handyman turns up every morning at 8 a.m. on his phone and starts shouting in Polish. He needs to learn to speak quietly when he's on his phone

      5/5 Excellent

      Nice and quiet.

Lovely large apartment, everything you need for a long stay. We stayed two nights, in a room with a view of the cove. Double bed was comfy, but the twin room beds were put ups with not such a good mattress ( fine for children). We had problems with the WiFi ( normally we wouldn’t have bothered with it but it was vital for study work ) so we called for assistance and along came a nice young man who sorted it out for us. Our only concern were the steps to the apartment, although it was stated on the booking that they could be a problem to some, little did we realise just what a problem they were? We had number 15 which was at the very top, so a few levels of steps (stone and wood) had to be climbed. As I am not so sure footed this did cause me some distress as they were rather slippy. The apartment itself was well stocked with everything you need for your stay, with kitchen appliances and everyday items. We were even given scones and cream as a welcome, how thoughtful was that. All bed linen and towels were immaculate, with extras too and shampoo and soaps supplied. Swim pool on site, nice and clean, just not the weather for it on this occasion. We would stay again , but next time in a lower ground apartment.

      4/5 Good

      Great but pool wasnt working

Great place, lovely and clean. However the main reason we booked the place was for the pool which looks amazing, i sent emails and telephoned the hotel to enquire about it however nobody got back to me until I had arrived and the pool was shut as it was broken. I think this should be put on the website before people book.

      5/5 Excellent

Thoroughly enjoyed our two nights here, our room at The Cove was a spotlessly clean and beautiful stay. I emailed them on the day and received a very friendly and prompt response within the hour with plenty of detail. Very impressed. There is plenty of parking and the hotel itself is easy enough to find. We were in Apartment 9, which is on the top floor. We had no WiFi or phone signal but that wasn’t an issue; it’s good to get away and detox from those every now and then anyway. The room itself featured a TV, washing machine, hairdryer, bath & shower towels, dish washer, oven, microwave, kettle - basically everything you need! Upon arrival, we discovered that they had also left us Jam and clotted cream scones to welcome us, as well as a fresh bottle of milk and two lots of tea & coffee - this is a lovely gesture and very welcome after a long drive. The walk down to the cove took around five minutes through beautiful woodland, and indeed there are an abundance of circular coastal walks around. One could easily spend days just out hiking along the spectacular Cornish cliffs nearby. The one leading from the Cove up past the quarry and down to Mousehole is one I’d particularly recommend. Overall we had a wonderful stay at The Cove Hotel and would be happy to return one day. Older reviews I’d read about cleanliness or poor management were completely false - if this was the case a while ago then it certainly isn’t the case anymore. The place is absolutely lovely.
