"The front desk did not have our reservation and we waited outside a locked gate in a rainstorm for about 10 min. The reception was not warm. We felt like an inconvenience. Even though they have a restaurant it was closed until breakfast. They offered to drive us to town (far away) for dinner. They did not have enough seats in the vehicle for our group so we stayed in and skipped dinner. I think for young locals it’s a great place for family with thermal pools, lake, river and nature. Rio Perlas Thermal Resort & Spa

8/10 Good

"Se ve un poco descuidado"

Savegre Hotel Natural Reserve & Spa

8/10 Good

Ecolirios Boutique Hotel & Villas

10/10 Excellent

"This property is VERY unique!! It is quite an experience, even just to stay a night, but I would recommend at least 2-3 nights minimum to explore the options they have available. I picked this as a sort of halfway point to stay 1 night between SJO & Puerto Viejo, on the Caribbean coast. But it was a phenomenal experience & we wished we had booked at least 1 more night, if not more. The cabins are very secluded, but well maintained. The grounds are extensive and amazing!! The staff are unbelievably helpful & friendly too!! The only downside is that you absolutely need 4x4 to get there. Don’t believe the people that say you don’t need it. You need to drive up & down steep grades that do get rushing water over them, not only to location, but also to your cabin. The only sounds were birds & frogs & water - it was pure nature to be easily enjoyed from the patio of your cabin. Hammock, sitting chairs w/ fire pit, glass encased cabins, open air rain faucet showers, open air dining & reception, immaculate grounds with animals… just amazing! It was a bit too rainy for us to walk down to the natural spring pools, but waterfalls galore! Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful! Gracias!! Food & drinks were amazing as well! FRESH!!! 4x4 and guts to get you there, but the rest is heaven! So many thanks to our staff!! (Get whatsapp for CR, period btw! You need it.)"

Dantica Cloud Forest Lodge

10/10 Excellent

"A beautiful property with tons of dog-friendly walking trails. You feel very secluded in your cabina. It's a little bit of a walk from the parking lot to the cabins, so pack light. The bathroom didnt have some amenities like washcloths and conditioner, but otherwise the room was well equipped."

Hotel y Restaurante El Guarco

10/10 Excellent

Muchas gracias!"

La Casona del Cafetal

"Unbelievably gorgeous property and our room Geisha was very clean and comfortable, we loved it 10/10! Staff was very kind and friendly 💖"
