Reforma: the Boulevard of Mexico City

The Paseo de la Reforma was developed in the 1860s as Mexico City’s answer to the grand streets and boulevards of Europe, and it continues to occupy this place in Mexico City society to this day. It is home to some of Mexico City’s most spectacular buildings, such as the Torre Mayor skyscraper, as well as a number of important monuments, including the Angel of Independence and the Monument to the Revolution.

The boulevard and the neighbourhood around Reforma is also packed with a good number of bars, restaurants and coffee shops, and a hotel in Reforma is a great base for your adventures around the attractions of Centro – downtown Mexico City – was well as the neighbourhoods of Zona Rosa, Polanco and Condesa.

Sightseeing in Chapultepec Park

One of the main attractions of Reforma are the green spaces of Chapultepec Park, one of the largest urban parks in the world. In Chapultepec Park, you can see home to the Castillo de Chapultepec, once the Presidential Palace and now the National History Museum. Built on an outcrop, the castle also offers great views across Mexico City.

While you’re in the park, check out Chapultepec Zoo, the Modern Art Museum and the world famous National Museum of Anthropology, which houses an exhibition exploring the history of the major pre-Hispanic civilisations of Mexico, including the Aztecs and the Mayan Empire.
