Excellent - but!
2nd time at this hotel and great except.. Las time we were lucky to get a room upgrade, not so lucky this time but room we had was freshly decorated with a brand new bathroom. This was great, heated mirror, great lighting, powerful shower. One problem, the wc has been 'forced' in to a corner which resulted in very limited legroom. Both my wife and I have bruises on our left knees as, in a moment of not sitting down very carefully, we hit our knees on a protruding wall. Very unfortunate on an otherwise first class refit.
Bigger problem however for me was the room location. When I booked, as I always do, I let the hotel know that I have a disability and cannot walk far and can only manage a few steps. I was therefore concerned about being given a room on the top floor. My concern was that if the very beautiful but old-fashioned lift broke down, or there was a Fire Alarm, I would have been stuck! Being 6'4" & 18 stone, it would have needed several firemen to get me to safety.
I would therefore urge any similarly disabled traveller to be aware and make sure that they are allocated a room on a lower floor.
