Good position

Posted 13-Nov-2015 on Hotels
In a fabulous position for the best parts of the town. Very helpful staff and the place is in good decor. The only issue we have is the size of our room - don't try to swing a cat! For some reason French Hotels put a mirror in the hallway and a hairdryer in the bathroom. My wife goes mad at this. Why can't they put a mirror on the wall alongside the table and have sockets to plug in the hairdryer and straighteners that she will always bring? Obviously it's been designed by men! Would I go back to this Hotel. Definitely Yes!

Great hotel

Posted 11-Oct-2015 on Hotels
A great stopover when we visit France. Hotel has been refurbished since our last visit and for the better. Staff are always friendly. Local area great for food as well, with some places even open on Sundays. All in all good for a chain hotel, and even better value when you manage to catch a room when it's at a bargain price.

Overnight stop

Posted 24-Sep-2015
Pros: Cheap
Location: Lots of amazing restaurants close by, spoils for choice
Very small room could hardly open suitcases in the floor space! However very clean and breakfast was great.

As usual a good place to stay before returning to West Sussex from the Alps.

Horrendously noisey but clean and smart

Posted 31-Aug-2015 on Hotels
Firstly I feel aggrieved that I cannot complain properly about this hotel which I paid for through Hotels.com and can only leave this review. Whilst the hotel was clean we were unable to sleep at all because of the noise. Our room 133 overlooked a cobbled street which ALL NIGHT was a thoroughfare through St Omer and it sounded like an express train was rolling through. We also had to have the WINDOWS open as the room was too hot even with the heating off. Now when I say windows I mean physically 2 sets of complete double glazing 12 inches apart from each other. So the hotel knows this is a problem and even then, if closed, it does not stop the noise of an express train. The room is not fit to be used. However as a middle man I doubt Hotels.com have even checked this hotel BECAUSE the Ibis group would have said everything was alright. We complained at the Ibis reception next morning (as they have a "we will sort this out in 15 minutes guarantee")but until you go to bed and hope the noise will likely subside as the night goes on you don't really want to be moving rooms. This Ibis St Omer experience is just plain wrong and I think I should be entitled to some compensation from Hotels.com,especially as this is the first time I have experienced such an appalling hotel from what is my favourite hotel booking website.

Town centre hotel

Posted 15-Aug-2015
Pros: Proximity to town centre. Good organisation.
Cons: More on site parking, family rooms availability, single beds for double rooms.
Location: Good restaurants and bars nearby, quaint old town.
Good welcome, quickly sorted large group, minimal parking, payable.

Great stay for the night.

Posted 01-Aug-2015 on Hotels
The staff were lovely, especially the delighful receptionist. We'd had a day of travel and the night's stay was just perfect and comfortable as could be expected. The only slight drawback, as in nearly every hotel, was the lack of a comfortable chair in the room. Otherwise absolutely great.
