Room booking not fulfilled

Posted 02-Jun-2017
Upon making the reservation, I selected a twin room, an option that was presented to me when booking. When I got to the hotel, my friend and I were told that they didn't have a twin room, and presented us with a tiny double bed in a very small room. When I queried this, I was told by the hotel that rooms are not guaranteed irrespective of whether I am booking a twin or double, and the room I am given is dependent on availability when checking in. This is completely unacceptable, why offer the choice of the room in the first place? When I asked to speak to the Hotel Manager, she refused to speak to me and said there was nothing she could do. Although the hotel is in a good location, and is generally a nice hotel, the Manager and the room situation was completely displeasing.

Extremely disappointing!

Posted 26-May-2017
Pros: It was close to the area where relations I was visisiting lived.
Cons: Realistic room description Clean the windows Cups/mugs not disposable Timely room servicing Better towels Better meal recording
Location: The metro was close by giving easy access to all Paris attractions
I booked a Premium Double room as a imagined that it would be clean, airy and perhaps a little luxury; I couldn't be further from the truth! Their website depicts a clean, bright and uncluttered room, what I found was a dingy dark and extremely cramped room. The dirty window overlooked an overgrown garden at the rear of the hotel and consequently there was very little light coming into the room. The light coming into the room was so little that it required the lights to be switched even in the mornings. The tea and coffee making facilities were meagre. On arrival, we found the 2 cups provided were disposable and there was only one tea bag, one coffee sachet, one flavoured tea bag and 2 milk portions! The bathroom was extremely small but clean. Two small bath towels and one hand towels were provided, they were clean but small and hard. We booked stayed for two nights however on returning at around 5pm on the second day only to find that the room had not been serviced. It was done eventually, taking all of 3 minutes from start to finish. We didn't book or take breakfast but on departure, the receptionist was unbelieving and took several minutes of checking and cross-checking before accepting this. Needless to say, I won't be returning and neither will I be recommending it!

Pros: Location
Cons: Communication with prospective guests.
Location: We don't know, because we didn't get the opportunity to stay here.
Upon arrival we were told that our floor was flooded and that we had been booked in at another hotel. The receptionist was apologetic and as no other information was given we assumed that our total four night booking had been transferred. Having walked with our luggage, not far enough for a taxi, we trudged back the way we had come to the designated hotel right opposite the station. We were assured that the other hotel was on a par with the Paris Louis Blanc. We would disagree. It’s location made it extremely noisy and it was shabby. Having said that, the staff were lovely and helpful, the room and bathroom were very clean and the beds comfortable. The service could not be faulted. After three days, one day before returning home, we were told that the Louis Blanc expected us to return there and that they would not pay for our final night. After remonstration by phone and in conference with the manager of the second hotel (who was extremely sympathetic and said that we had been badly treated), the Louis Blanc management agreed to pay for our final night. We have to say therefore that the beginning and the end of what was to be a lovely break in Paris, was spoiled. Having read other reviews it appears that most people are satisfied. It’s a shame that we had such a poor experience and we wouldn’t risk the Paris Louis Blanc again!

Sweat box hotel.

The hotel was clean and mostly in good condition. We were there for 3 nights. After having no air conditioning on the first night, we were told it was just the room we were in. They moved us to another room and it didn't work in there either. When I went to the desk to tell them after night 2 there were others at the desk with the same complaint. I was told multiple time they would have the issue fixed but it never happened. It was so hot each night that more than two hours was almost impossible.

Nice hotel situated next to tube station

Posted 25-Feb-2017
Strategic location for travelers relying on public transport. Comfortable and clean stay. Some staffs were helpful and friendly with big smiles on their faces, some were opposite. Considering this hotel is right outside the busy street, the noise is bearable (not that bad) and we had a great night sleep.

Mediocre hotel

Posted 24-Feb-2017
Pros: Close to the Louis Blanc train station (Metro)
Cons: Noise level and room temperature control. It was hot and the thermostat did not work.
Location: They had restaurants and stores nearby. It is convenient to the train station (Metro)
The hotel was next to a loud street. The thermostat did not work and the bathroom was really small. The desk people spoke French and tried really hard to understand English. A lot of miscommunication. The breakfast is not included and cost 11 euros for basic breakfast food. You can go outside and get better food for that amount. The water pressure and hot water was great. Hotel is just old and basic. You have to sign up for wifi everyday .

Great place in a good location

Great hotel in a convenient location. The hotel room was one of the biggest I have had in Paris and in the best location. Gare Du Nord is about a 15 minute walk. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Good location but full of Moss

Posted 03-Jan-2017
Pros: Location and amenities
Location: Metro, food, grocery, near city
The hotel location is superb and the metro is just a stone throw away! Restaurant aplenty. The hotel lobby is nicely renovated and clean.. The rooms however are a step back in time. The toilets is horrible! Black moss all over the stained tiles around the tub. Unfortunately the sink in my hotel was also stuck and the staff had no initiative to unclog it... Looking at the other room pictures on expedia, all the other guest rooms are the same.. Scared from this experience.

Convenient location

The hotel is close to Paris Nord train station (Gare du Nord) and the metro station. It's easy access to other sightseeing areas by metro.
