Nice hotel!
The front desk people are very nice and professional. The breakfast area is comfortable. The stairs are worn, but the building is crazy old. It didn't matter. It's in a very busy part of the city, so make do with noise if your window is open. Once closed though, there wasn't much street noise at all. The lift is incredibly small. You have room for one person and a piece of luggage or two people on the small side. If you are heavier, you'll have to make do with the stairs. Once in the room, it was clean and roomy enough for three people with minimal luggage. Beware there is only one useable plug in the entire room. We came during 90 degree weather. Without air conditioning the room was definitely warm. They do have a fan, but it's not very strong. We had handheld fans that we used as well. For American families, understand there are no screens in the windows. Ours opened all the way. The beds were very comfortable as well as the pillows. Breakfast was a lot for us: one regular croissant, one chocolate croissant, one baguette, plus access to yogurt, applesauce, cheese, cereal and juice per person. We were able to leave our luggage in a closet directly across from the front desk after checking out. All told, this is a great hotel to stay in.

The hotel was in a great location only a short walk from the Louvre and great restaurants. The staff were very friendly. The Wi-Fi and elevator were out of service for a couple of days during our stay. Otherwise, it was a pleasant visit.

Couldn’t recommend this hotel more. Me and a friend (both young women) stayed here for two nights and we couldn’t have asked for better. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Old hotel with charm but very clean. Our room was cleaned while we were there even tho it was only two nights (they asked permission to clean it which I thought was a nice touch). Incredible location steps from the Louvre and right by access to the metro. Good restaurants nearby too. 24hr reception and hairdryer and WiFi in our room. Warm rooms which was great for the April weather. Our room had high ceilings and a massive window that opened fully(no.7). Water pressure in the shower was great and so was the temperature. They also held our bags after checkout as our flight wasn’t til late. All staff has great English (much like most of the people we encountered in Paris) overall a great place to spend your stay in paris

Location location location…. You can see the louvre from the front door. Everything is within walking distance. Lots of restaurants close by. The rooms are clean and well-kept.

A great location. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The property shows it’s age, but the rooms are renovated and the staff is very helpful. It’s a great deal to stay near all of the things in central Paris.

Best value in Paris!
This is our 2nd stay at Hotel Montpensier. The first time was in 2018 with friends. This time we came with our 2 sons and their girlfriends. We booked 3 rooms and we are very pleased with our stay. If you can get past the small elevator, this hotel is absolutely the best value in my opinion. This is our 4th visit to Paris Great location, clean rooms, and friendly and helpful staff. I highly recommend this hotel. I sure will be back! Thank you Montpensier staff for making our family vacation very enjoyable.

Perfect Location
Perfect location! 5 min. to the Louvre and about 1/2 to the Notre Dame. The staff is very helpful and the room for a family of 4 was clean and roomy. Metro and bus stops close by as well. Breakfast is 10 Euro’s per person very reasonable by Paris standards. We would stay here again!

As it says it is two star hotel, that’s how it feels. Hotel is nicely cleaned but the only thing that would make me come again is an exceptional location at the Louvre.

The location of this property is amazing, as it's just two blocks from the Louvre. The recently renovated room we were in (38) was excellent, but my cousins and siblings had older rooms that they didn't enjoy so much. The old building has character, but the tiny elevator and authentically old stairs were a pain. In all, if you don't pay a lot, you'll be pleased.

The location is PERFECT. If you’re arriving from CDG, you can get there fairly easily from the Roissy Bus that stops at Opera, or the train that goes to Châtelet. Rooms are comfortable enough. Ours had a really high ceiling and window overlooking the street, but was not noisy. Breakfast is great value for 10€.

Location is great! Three-four minutes walk to Louvre, 15-17 to d’Orsay and Opera. Other attractions are within walking distance as well, but may use public transportation if desired.

This was a great hotel with an amazing location! Highly recommend it and would go there again if I find myself in Paris again! Beds were comfortable, hotel itself was a little run down, but perfect for what we needed! Comfy bed and a hot shower! The receptionist was delightful and very helpful!

The property is well located, just a short walk to the Louvre. The staff was excellent, extremely helpful. The breakfast was good value for the money, especially in Paris. The furniture in the rooms could use an update but the bed was quite comfortable.

Great Paris base for exploring the city.
This hotel is in a great place for exploring Paris. It also has a neighborhood of great restaurants, food market and a laundromat right on the block. Short walk to the Louvre and Bato Bus hop-on boat that stops at all the great sites for a small price. A clean hotel room with a modern bathroom. There is no air conditioning, so I opened the window on this September night and captured the cool. I had a comfy, 5th floor room with an elevator: small and just right for one. Staffed all night, so I felt safe as an elderly, solo traveler. They offer a nice breakfast at 10Euros, which is comparable to having just one croissant and coffee elsewhere, so it’s a good way to start the day. I’d stay here again. There are fancier places to stay along the same street, but this suited me well. I’m not a fancy person!
