Bad hotel in a great location and at a great price

Posted 30-Dec-2016
Pros: The location and the price
Cons: Almost everything
Location: It's the heart of Paris, everything is within a short walk, including metro stations
The hotel is really bad. I mean, I never knew hotels could be that bad. It's like someone tried to make it as bad as possible on a bet. Anywhere you turn in your room you find things that are old, disgusting-looking and as if fished out of a dumpster. Add to that a strong chlorine odor which i had to work on getting rid of by keeping the window open for a while at the end of November (and it was cold!) The shower is small even for a slim person, I can't imagine anyone bigger even getting inside. The towels are actually torn and look like mopping rags. The plumbing problems deserve a special review just by themselves... The breakfast room is an underground utility room, don't go for it, you are in Paris, there are other options. However, all that said, I must admit that it is a very affordable (cheap, to be honest) hotel in the very heart of Paris. You are between Rue de Rivoli and Les Halles, Louvre is within 6 minutes walk, in fact everything is within 6 minutes walk. If you are on a budget and want to still enjoy being in the center of this magical city, this hotel is about the only option. As long as you know what to expect. Would be great for students.

Good location, terrible shower

Posted 27-Nov-2016 on Hotels
The hotel is in a great location. 15 minutes to Notre dame, 10 minutes to the Louvre, and easy access to metro stations to get to the Eiffel Tower or Palace of Versailles. The hotel itself is below average on its own. The room is clean, but has some cracks and mold. There is no tv in the room, and electrical sockets are few and are in odd places. The room is tiny, but the bathroom is worse. The bathroom is my biggest complaint of this establishment. The shower is so small that an average person will be touching the shower curtain as they shower. I felt dirty touching the shower curtain as showered.

Nice/small hotel 2 blocks from Pont Neuf.

Posted 14-Feb-2016
Pros: I'd stay there again because of its great central Paris location.
Location: Pompadou Center, Les Halles and Pont Neuf/Seine are all only two blocks away. Notre Dame is 5 blocks away.
I had a pleasant 5-day stay in the middle of winter. Room was comfortable and clean. It has the smallest shower in the world - but functional. No sound insulation among rooms so you need to be quiet and courteous to other guests. Hopefully, they will do the same. Staff were very informative about "local knowledge" stuff.

Good location

Posted 03-Oct-2015 on Hotels
Location was excellent within 2 blocks of the metro. Got one of the remodeled rooms. It was larger than I was expecting, with a large, full bathroom. However, the bathroom consisted of a showerhead and a toilet with no dividers or tub, just a drain in the floor for the water. This meant that taking a shower occupied the whole bathroom and often got the entire bathroom floor wet since there was no shower curtain or anything to keep the water from sloshing around. Didn't get the room cleaned or towels replaced on a couple nights, so had to ask for fresh towels. Anytime you leave the room you have to leave your key at the front desk which was odd, but it wasn't a problem as it was 24/7 staffed. Lots of shops and restaurants very near the hotel, with the Louvre and Notre Dame within a very short walk. Best part of this hotel was the location.

This is an old hotel, no elevator or AC. The bathroom was the worst I had experienced in 5 weeks of travel in Europe. It's only redeeming factor is its location near the Louvre.

Great location!

Stayed there during a backpacking trip. Great location close to the Louvre, Notre dame and public transit. The rooms are small and a bit old but was ideal for our purposes. The 24 h reception was great and the girls there were really helpful in providing tourist information to arranging airport shuttles. Great place if you are looking for cheap accommodation in downtown paris

Not bad

Posted 17-Mar-2015 on Hotels
It was a nice stay. The people working there were amazing. The shower was small and the bed a little uncomfortable, but overall not bad. Also, no elevator is rough sometimes. It's what you expect when you get a cheap price in a desirable location like this.
