Convenient for CDG

Posted 18-May-2017
Pros: The staff of the hotel was friendly and very helpful. The location was right off the RER B to and from the airport.
Cons: The hotel could provide wash cloths.
Location: The neighborhood is safe. There is a food store nearby and cafes. Within closest walking distance are the Pantheon and Luxembourg Gardens.
The room was really best for one person, although it was manageable for two; besides, who stays long in a room if you are in Paris? Beware: If you are a large person, the shower will not be for you because it is very narrow. We would probably opt for a different hotel or B&B next time, but this hotel more than served our purposes.

Walking distance to the heart of 5th arrondicement

Posted 07-Mar-2017
Pros: Quiet part of The Boulvard St. Michel, possibility to have even quieter room from the court yard side. Courteous staff. Cleanliness.
Cons: For the price I was charged(€80) everything was just great.
Location: It is about 12 minutes walk from a good restaurant areas which are in back side streets of The Bld St.hMichel, across the river there is Notre Dame.
Very pleasant and helpful staff, knowledgable and willing. The rooms are a bit small, at least mine was(room 405), good for one person, which I was but, with 2 adults it might be tight. Proper size and comfortable bed. The bathroom small but functional, although sombody of a little larger size may have trouble fitting in the small shower stall.

Well Situated, Convenient & Cozy Hotel

Posted 29-Sep-2016 on Hotels
Hotel Des Mines is one of the many smaller hotels in Paris. The word "cozy" describes most of these hotels, and this one is no exception. The staff is attentive and willing to provide information about the area. This hotel is convenient to many sights. You can get a bus just down the street to take you straight to Notre Dame and Ste. Chapel, and it is a just a walk from them to the Louvre and the Tuileries Garden, and then a short walk from there to the Musée l'Orangerie. Or, you can catch the Hop-On/Hop-Off bus just two blocks away and go all over the city (50 stops). The Luxombourg Garden is only two blocks away also.

a very good choice

Posted 30-Aug-2016
Pros: clean, friendly and helpful staff, 24 hour reception, proximity to the RER and metro
Cons: only that i was allergic to the laundry detergent they use !
Location: great location!
the hotel is conveniently located near the restaurants of the latin quarter. it is also one block from the RER station. it is directly across the street from luxembourg park, a great place for joggers. also, close enough to the Seine river. i have stayed at this hotel before and feel comfortable going back here again and again. the 5th arr. is a great location and Hotel Des Mines is home to us when in Paris.

Great location

This hotel is in a great location. The train from CDG airport takes about 30 minutes and the station is 5 minutes walk away.Notre Dame is 10 minutes walk away and there are many bars and resteraunts in the immediate area. There is also a beautiful park that is great for relaxing in.Situated between Germain De Pres and the Latin Quarter, the value of this hotel is amazing. The size of the room was good for Paris, the staff are friendly and helpful and spoke excellent english. I would recommend this hotel and would stay there if I go back to Paris. It's not the Ritz, but is clean and comfortable and it's only a place to sleep because you will find lots of things to do in Paris.

Boutique 2 star hotel in great location in Latin quarter, across from Luxembourg Gardens, & 10 min walk from Notre Dame. Comfortable bed w 4 star bed linens. Super clean, and quiet. Wonderful staff. A bit run down & small but otherwise great for budget traveller. I'd recommend.

Great location

Posted 14-Jul-2016
Pros: Location
Cons: Everything
Location: Close to metro, Norte dame, gardens, Sorbonne.
Old, cramped, smelly but great location. This hotel is right near the action with a convenient metro stop a block away. The price is reasonable for the city but if you can pay a bit more. It may be worth it to find a different hotel.

Great location!

Great location but the room next door was extremely noisy (at 2am!!) the walls are far from sound proof... The hotel staff were very courteous though and took care of the nuisance!
