Check for protests before booking!

Posted 11-May-2016
Pros: Get a club room when booking you have access to private club lounge for free drinks and snacks, much cheaper than mini bar which will bankrupt you!
Cons: The décor is now looking tired but you cant have it all.
Location: Nice central location shame about the square right in front of the Hotel that is protest central. You have been warned!
The hotel is located in Place de la Republique which is the protest location of choice for Paris. I arrived with 2 children in tow at night only to find a full blown protest in situ and had to be dropped off a street away and suffer tear gas inhalation on the way to the hotel entrance. Hotel is nice but dated and the staff were good. The protests started in April and turn riotous every night without fail so if you're going to eat out or explore Paris at night then be prepared to run past police in full riot gear charging the crowd. It spoilt our experience and is tolerated in Paris. Its now the 11th of may 2016 and the protests are still on if you check the press.

Great hotel, great location for shopping.

Posted 19-Apr-2016
Pros: Location, spacious room, amenities, and price.
Cons: Inform tourists of constant demonstrations, rallies, and other organized functions in the republic square. It was loud. Better club lounge selections.
Location: Nice location, shopping, plenty of restaurants to choose from, and metro two blocks down.
I love Paris, and we come at least once a year. Hotel was great.

Very accessible but has cons as well.

Posted 12-Apr-2016
Stayed for 2 nights with family, our room is modern, clean & good in size but some reasons put me off. First, there was no aircondition(which is unbelieveable) in our room, second was no exhaust fan in the toilet. Even we made complaint staff just suggest to open the window & said doesnt really have aircondition & exhaust fan. Very noisy outside, there was ongoing rally that time, and room staff doesnt speak english or understand written french(using translator in my phone app).

Dear JL , Thank you for taking the time to post your recent experience about your stay with us at the Crowne Plaza Paris République. From reading your review and feedback we would like to express our apologies that you were disturbed by noise and that this resulted in a negative overall rating of our hotel alongside a negative rating for service. We are sorry for the air conditioning inconvenience, please note that the entire hotel is equipped with a heating/cooling system and the base temperature of the hotel is adapted to the season (and external temperature). We hope this incident will not deter you from choosing IHG properties for your future travel needs. Yours sincerely, The Guest Relations Team Crowne Plaza Paris Republique

Wonderful Hotel

Posted 06-Apr-2016
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
Location: There were no attractions near by, that you could walk to, but there were plenty of restaurants, and shops. Pino Pizza was really good.
My Husband and I, and our two children, stayed at the Crown Plaza La Republic last week for two days. The hotel was wonderful. The staff was very helpful. They gave us great directions to the Champs Elysee, via the subway, and everyone was friendly. The buffet breakfast was also wonderful. It was not close to all the attractions, but the subway was right next to the hotel, and made getting to and from the attractions very easy. I would definitely stay there again.

Great centrally located Hotel.

Posted 06-Apr-2016
Stayed at the Crowne Plaza Hotel at the Place de la Republique in Paris for 2 nights on 2nd and 3rd April. The Hotel is ideally situated to explore Paris on foot. A lively square with plenty going on and historically very significant. An impromptu memorial around the base of the Liberty monument to the victims of the November terror attacks is very moving. The Hotel itself is quiet, clean and friendly, the room was comfortable and spacious with everything you would expect from a 4 star hotel. The bar and restaurant were friendly and complimentary wi-fi was available throughout. You can walk to Notre Dame in 15 minutes, the Louvre in 20 minutes, the Eiffel Tower in 45 minutes and the Place de la Bastille in 10 minutes. Taxi to CdG airport is a fixed price of €50. I would recommend both the Hotel and the area.

Very Convenient, Comfortable and Friendly

Posted 28-Mar-2016
Pros: very convenient location, very friendly staff, great complimentary maps, great showers
Cons: a little more room to store luggage would have been helpful, the outlets didn't work well for converters b/c they were indented, add a pool
Location: steps away from the metro, great sports store for souvenir jerseys, easy walk to marais
Our family chose this hotel based on convenience to the Metro system and an exceptional airfare+hotel pricing deal. We couldn't have been more pleased (okay, my youngest would have been more pleased if there had been a swimming pool!). We stayed 6 nights and our entire stay was very positive. We were able to check-in early and the hotel staff was very friendly and very good in English. They helped with check-in, maps, and printing tickets for us. We were usually up and out in the mornings and didn't return until late in the evenings, so we didn't experience the hotel for dining. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
