Second stay at this hotel great location and friendly staff at the front desk that made you feel very welcome, room clean and comfortable sufficient for a few nights stay, would stay here again if return to Paris

Hidden gem
I spent one night here, en route to Charles de Gaulle airport. The room was immaculate, the bed was extremely comfortable and the shower was modern with instant hot water. I dealt with 2 members of staff in total, and they were both very proffesional and friendly. For the price I can't fault this Hotel, and only 6 minutes walk from the Gare Du Nord, I will be returning

The property is very basic so if you are looking for any type of luxury this is not the hotel for you. The lift was tiny so if you have luggage only one person at a time can use it. The hotel is close to the train station but quite a way away from Paris main attractions. The rooms are dated but we only stayed one night so it fit our needs. The staff was friendly and very helpful.

Great stay for the price - recommended
Highly recommend for brief solo trips to Paris. My room was a bit small and the bed a bit firm - but nothing to really complain about as reception was very kind, price was good, location excellent, and accommodations above average (again, for the price). Highly recommend

Good short stay option
Great location within easy walk of Gare du Nord. Tall and narrow with small rooms and very small lift. Difficult if you have large suitcases.

Things we liked: The person who checked us in at the desk was delightful. He spoke English well and was very helpful. They had tasty croissants available to eat in the lobby throughout the day! Our room was small and crowded, but met our needs. I liked that we had a "balcony" that we could climb out our window and sit on. The beds were tiny, but surprisingly comfortable. The view out our window was pleasant and the window kept out noise from the street really well if you closed it properly. The curtains darkened the room nicely which was helpful for sleeping in while overcoming our jet lag. Things we didn't like: there were only 4 or 5 rooms on each floor, but the noise in the hall every time someone came in or out of their room was very loud. We tried to muffle it by putting a blanket up against the crack under the door, but it was still pretty noisy.

The staff at Art Hotel Lafayette are the best thing about this hotel. They were friendly, helpful and made us feel welcome. The location suited us as it was close to public transportation and not as noisy as hotels around Gare Du Nord tend to be. The reception area is small but attractive. However, the room was rather small and dingy. We had 2 singles but the room was so small they couldn't be separated. The wardrobe was scratched up, noisy and clearly needed an upgrade. Toiletries were minimal but they did provide 2 bottles of water free of charge which we appreciated. WiFi did work well and consistently. There was a charge of 12 euros for breakfast which we found to be excessive. Overall we felt the hotel was overpriced but recognised that it is probably in line with other Parisian hotels. Overall, it was a good choice for a couple of nights stay.

Nice, small hotel in a quiet area
Nice hotel within a 10 minute walk of Gare du Nord. Quite a few restaurants nearby and a small Monop around the corner. Nearest Metro is Poissonnière, about 5 minutes walk away. The room was quite small but there was only me and that is reflected in the price. Nice bathroom, air conditioning, but the wardrobe could be updated. Overall I had a nice two nights there and the staff were very helpful.

Good short stay hotel in good location.
Very welcoming staff, who are a big plus. Rooms small, which one expects in Paris, but ours was recently given a makeover. Location good for access, being close to both Gare du Nord and Gare de l’est. Lots of eateries nearby. Be aware it is not the smartest area of town. Fine for short stay. We did not take the breakfast.

Art Hotel Lafayette is slightly below average 3-star Parisian Hotel. The rooms are tiny, the lift is tiny, the overall feel of the hotel is that it is much in need of refurbishment and a good clean-up. We did not have the breakfast but we saw that it was basic. The service was not especially friendly. The biggest disappointment was that there was not even a mini-fridge in the room. That would have been useful in August heat in Paris. The best aspect of the hotel is that is convenient to Gare du Nord.

The hotel is close to Gare du Nord and reasonably priced. Very small room and bathroom (don't bring your cat, there's no room to swing it!). A bit shabby, could do with a tidy up. Comfortable bed though, so I slept well. Overall an ok hotel for a cheap break.
