Great location, but lacking comfort.

Posted 19-Jul-2015
Pros: The location is very central, and will be particularly handy to the train station once the renovations to the station are completed.
Cons: Generally, the desk staff could be friendlier and more helpful. One of the three I met was fine.
Location: The location is great. The modern art museum and the seine river are only blocks away. There are also many bistros in the area.
The hotel is in a great location, close to many tourist attractions and restaurants and night life. The hotel is itself is what you would expect in a large European city for the price. However, I think the staff could generally be friendlier and more helpful. For instance, I asked one whether he recommended an attraction and he didn't respond. I also did not have any soap in my room when I checked in but did not feel comfortable asking the front desk for some. Finally, at the moment the large train station a block away is under major construction which results in the hotel being harder to find and noisy (not their fault).

The room is comfortabke but sometimes noisy at night as the bars are nearby. The location is very convenient to Les Halles metro and RER

Hotel bien placé

Posted 05-Jul-2015

Nice location - too bad about the construction...

Posted 04-Jun-2015
Pros: The location
Cons: The lobby staff seemed to be distracted.
Location: We love the Marais and this hotel allows you to walk around that area daily.
We arrived in Paris and found our way to the Agora Hotel (with some trouble getting around a huge constructions zone). We found out that while they *do* have an elevator, it doesn't come down to the ground floor making it very difficult to get our luggage into the room. The room was a bit smaller than we expected and we were awakened fairly early by the jackhammers.

Cozy, clean, convenient

Posted 30-May-2015 on Hotels
Then room is very small by US standards, but it was cozy, clean, and comfortable. A warning for plus sized travellers, the shower is small, but it works well. The location is amazing. There are plenty of great restaurants, cafe's, bars, a few night clubs, and Les Halles all within a five to ten minute walk. The metro is right there and serves the RER A and B as well as most metro lines a tourist would need. The staff was friendly and helpful. The price was very reasonable especially when you consider the convenience. In terms of climate control heat is not an issue, but in hotter months AC could be. Since it is situated in such a busy area and some bars and night clubs close at 6am noise could be an issue if you are sensitive to that. Earplugs will sort that out easily though. The elevator is very small, but with a little patience it does the trick. I loved it here. I would definitely come back.
