Good 4* hotel, modern, spacious and well located

Posted 15-Feb-2017
Pros: Position, style, sea view rooms and terrace, good gym
Cons: Food quality and more comfortable furniture
Location: Sea front has everything you need - bards restaurants, chemist, grocery shops, excursions, etc.
Overall, Almyra is a lovely hotel, the staff are friendly and the facilities (when open) are good. 1 of the 3 pools was closed for maintenance with a 4th being built (construction site and constant noise was disappointing). Furniture overall is uncomfortable (bedroom chairs, sun beds, etc) but the most disappointing aspect is the quality of the food. Whilst choice is good, a buffet style service means that no food is hot - Luke warm at best. Breakfast has an 'egg station' where eggs/ omelettes are cooked fresh. However, no such station was available for dinner so evening food was tepid. Luckily, we only had a B&B deal and only had dinner once in the hotel. There are numerous good quality restaurants just a pleasant stroll to the sea front. We did enjoy out stay and will return (B&B only). One final point worth meantioning, The sea view rooms (bright & airy) are far superior to the garden terrace rooms which are mostly in the shade all day.

Amazing wedding venue, great service and food!

Posted 08-Oct-2016 on Hotels
We stayed at the Almyra for 3 nights because we held our wedding there in October 2016. It was an amazing experience and an amazing hotel. The condition of the hotel is excellent, and the design is very clean and modern. We stayed in a Kyma suite, which was outstanding, my wife and I were really pleased with it. We held a few gatherings on the roof of our suite and the view of Paphos harbour and castle is amazing, especially the sunset. The amenities of the hotel are excellent. Pools and spa facilities are excellent and our guests really enjoyed using them as well. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful, literally anything and everything we needed was provided for. The wedding planners Christiana and Elizabeth, and everyone at guest services were outstanding. Restaurants are excellent, Notios is a great fusion of Asian and Cypriot cuisine. The breakfast buffet is delicious with many options and the seafront Ouzeri restaurant also serves fantastic traditional Greek Cypriot food. Overall, it was a perfect venue for our wedding, and I would wholeheartedly recommend the Almyra for anyone dreaming of a gorgeous wedding in beautiful Cyprus.

Fantastic hotel

Posted 05-Oct-2016
Location: Plenty of things to do, everything is within a 5-10 minute drive. If you like your sea food, try Ocean Basket. They do amazing sea food.
Fantastic hotel, the hotel staff make you feel at home. Amazing breakfast. Free parking. The hotel is conveniently located next to water sports, the harbour and other the local town centre.

Almyra Hotel, Paphos

Posted 11-Sep-2016
Pros: Location and the efficiency and friendliness of its staff.
Cons: Quality of rooms, commensurate with its 5-star billing. Pool areas - not attractive and the age-old problem of sun bed hogging by guests.
Location: Location is good, nearby to town, shops and restaurants.
Advertised as a 5-star hotel, but is clearly not. The room was extremely basic, furniture in room was sub-standard, decor throughout hotel looked 'tired'. Bar prices were grossly inflated. We used the Almyra's sister hotel, the Annabelle, next door for meals and pool facilities as it was of a far better standard. On the plus side, the Almyra is in a good location - minutes walk from town and the staff were very good. Overall, I would not go back there and would certainly not recommend it to family and friends.

Poor start salvaged

Posted 11-Sep-2016
On arrival, air con not working, after some resistance from night staff manages a temp change, on return mini bar fridge not working, safe wouldn't lock! Sorted eventually, took the edge off a bit. Rooms looking a bit tired now, maybe slipping slightly off the 5 star pedestal a little. Location is perfect though, sea views, close to town centre restaurants bars etc

נהננו מאד מלון אחד הטובים שהייתי אם לא הטוב ביותר. ממליץ בחום בייחוד למשפחות עם ילדים קטנים.

Perfect for both adults and kids

Posted 14-Aug-2016
Pros: Lovely staff. Perfect balance of stuff for adults and family/kid friendly areas/activities.
Cons: The evening buffet would not be good value. We had this on the first night as we arrived late and it was all on offer - but v. expensive.
Location: It's a short walk to the harbour where there are lots of cafes and touristy shops. Lots of things a short bus ride away.
Loved this place. It has the appearance of a cool boutique hotel (in most areas) but is actually a pretty big place. The best aspect though was how it managed to pull off being both a treat for adults and kids alike. The Almyra Spa was a lovely sea-facing, child-free haven for grown-ups (two small pools, gym and treatment rooms), but the rest of the hotel was totally geared up for kids/families in a cool-looking, non-plasticky way. We used the kids club for a couple of mornings for our son (mainly so he could get to meet other kids to play with round the pool) and was pleasantly surprised how good it was - amazing staff, and a really good range of activities (some off site). Also amazing was the free childcare for over-5s from 7-9pm each evening which was equally well organised and run by the same amazing staff. Our boy was desperate to go to these - which meant a cheeky cocktail for me and the husband by the pool - everyone happy! A lovely friendly place - a real treat to stay there.

PRIME LOCATION

Posted 31-Jul-2016
Pros: The location is outstanding and the staff are also outstanding and come highly reccomended
Cons: Not everyone needs a slightly larger room, especially those who are only couples. It should be very clear and state NO BALCONY.
Location: Its on the seafront, the restaurants opposite are all top notch, and a lot of locals also eat in these. Nice walking distance to harbour 4 mins
While almost all of the hotel staff at the Almyra were ever so nice and friendly, especially Maria who served us coffee in the mornings with the most wonderful charm and pleasantness. We were not fully aware that we did not have a balcony ! We (my wife and I) were told that they could move us for the second week of our 2 week stay, for an additional cost of £760 !!!! The cheeky manager even asked "Do you spend a lot of time in your room" I was fuming. We don't normally spend much time in any hotel bedroom, which is why we wanted a balcony, so that when one of us was in the shower the other could wait and chill on the balcony. Also not sure what time you had to be up in the mornings to get a sunbed around the adults only infinity pool, but we found this near impossible. with guests placing towels on both the adult only and also around the main pool which was for their kids. The pools and towel service is not supposed to open until 8am. but we found the adult area to be, in a word, unavailable !
