"The room was fairly large for Japan, and comfortable, I was on the top floor, non smoking comfort floor. And the breakfast was good. Staff was super. My only complaint is that because some floors were smoking, sometimes the lobby area smelled enough like cigarettes to give me a headache. Location is good for new Shinkansen station. Sidewalks ok."

There are a number of options for food and entertainment around the station, and this is a great hotel to stay at if you’re planning to go to the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum. "Standard Japanese hotel (somewhat small room, onsen available, etc.), but the breakfast was great and they have a map of recommended places for dinner. There are a couple of parking spots at the hotel, a few more spots a block down the street, etc. (there's a map of parking spots on the side of the hotel). "

"The staff and the accommodation itself was lovely. I got to the hotel early and paid about $7 dollar U.S. to get a room early. They have free ramen offered for an hour at night. The bath/hot spring was just what I needed. The staff was helpful and respectful. Would absolutely stay here again. Struggled with putting on the A/c and a staff member cleaning another room came to save the day!"

"Great accessibility, steps from Fukui station. The free breakfast had a remarkable selection and is great to have, given that there are limited options open early in the morning. The room was very spacious and clean. Drugstore 10 minutes walk away for essentials and f some foods if needed. Several conveniences stores that are even closer (but more expensive). Many restaurants in walking distance as well as a department store. Solid choice!"

Getting run down but great staff

"Has the best breakfast but over the yrs it's now ltd.great location, free coffee from check in to check out time , the hotel is going down in repairs and condition.for the price Toyoko is cleaner .smoke is a major irritant It needs a new carpet and housekeeping shud look at the dust beneath beds and the main bath drain is disgusting. But old timers and service is 5stars "

"This was my first hotel in Japan. Great value for the quality of the stay. The location has plenty to offer in a walkable distance, including close proximity to the Shinkansen (bullet train). I staid here to be able to visit Daihonzan Eiheiji. The bus to Eiheiji temple is at the transportation center where the Shinkansen and other trains depart. "
