Pocket Guide: Green Hotels Hotels in Palm Beach - West Palm Beach

Going Green in Palm Beach

With its pristine sandy beaches and nature reserves, Palm Beach is blessed with wonderful natural sites, and the county recognises the importance of protecting these invaluable habitats. While its urban areas have been built up over the years, special attention has been given to the protection of the precious coastal environments that both human and animal residents alike call home.

Sustainable Hotels in Palm Beach

All visitors to Palm Beach can do their part for the environment at any hotel by limiting electricity use and being conscientious about waste. If you want to take things one step further, look for a sustainable hotel in Palm Beach where the company’s individual green policies help minimise its impact on the environment.

Many eco-friendly hotels will request that you reuse your towels and other linens if they are not genuinely in need of a wash. You may also encounter eco-friendly lightbulbs and appliances that help reduce the hotel’s overall energy use. Many Palm Beach hotels offer recycling bins and organic food as well as providing brochures with tips on how to further protect the environment while out and about in Palm Beach.

Appreciating Nature in Palm Beach

Palm Beach offers incredible opportunities to enjoy the natural environment, including gorgeous beaches and nature trails. Pack an organic picnic and head out to Lake Trail to stroll along the waterway and enjoy the wild birds and animals native to Palm Beach – just don’t forget to clean up after yourself!

For an education on the native wildlife of the region, stop by the Gumbo Limbo Environmental Complex at Red Reef Park. Not only is the complex a working research facility for local university students but it also operates as an environmental education centre for the public. Spend time learning about local marine animals from the special exhibits on conservation and ecology.

Leave Only Footprints

Palm Beach County is a special kind of paradise, one that requires proper care and attention in order to preserve its unique environments. Come to Palm Beach to discover its unique ecosystems and leave with an appreciation for its natural beauty.
